I have a 10 mo old English mastiff puppy that is always panting and snorting. I give him an antihistamine 1 in am and 2 in pm. I thought it would be beneficial to know his temp.
You can use any digital thermometer for that. Just don't get one of the really thick ones. Some water soluble lube makes things easier because you need to get a rectal temp. Don't put it in too far and be prepared because your dog probably won't enjoy it. I have a boy that overheats very quickly, especially at night, and I make sure he has free access to water. It also never hurts to mention it to you vet and see what they suggest.
