A lady asked me today if Franklin was a pit. I had to look at her like she was stupid,; I couldn't help it. In what world does an EM look like a pit? Lol

My CC is all black . I've had a couple of people think he's a lab. I'm like really. When is the last black lab you've seen with a tail docked? 2 people guessed correctly at petsmart the other day. I was impressed.

I will say, I am impressed at the amount of people who just ask what breed our two are. I have found I cannot say Mastiffs as people just assume I am speaking of Bull Mastiffs.

I've found the opposite to be true where I live. Everyone asks if he is a mastiff, when I say, "a Bullmastiff" they say "my such and such has one and its a lot bigger". Clearly they don't realize that a 28 inch Bullmastiff that weighs 150 pounds isn't small. They have to think he is the same as an EM. EM does not equal BM!!!!!

To most people, a mastiff is a mastiff. They don't realize how many different breeds there are.

I was talking to a woman in Jiggers agility class a couple of weeks ago about what other dogs we had. When I said my other dog was an English Mastiff she paused and then asked if that was the same thing as the Mastiff. When I said yes and that I always say EM just to differentiate between the other mastiff breeds her eyes practically bugged out of her head and she asked if there was more than one type. I think everyone in the group ended up laughing at her expression, including her.

When I say to people my girl is a Cane Corso most people look at me funny. Then I say Italian Mastiff and they get a look of recognition on their face

I live in kentucky! These people are hilarious. Axel is 12 weeks old, 35# CC. I have 3 boxers too. At the local pet store I had 7 people standing around long story short: "I have a boxer", I say me too 3 of them at home. That led to.....I have pits too, ok I don't....lol....then massive.....then rotti.....then mutt, I say really $1500 mutt I got ripped off! I'm ordering a shirt that explains....it's a cane corso not a bullmastiff, not a boxer, not a pit, not a rott.....a cane corso! Going to have to wear every time we leave the house!
