We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

They didn't need me after all! He is starting to come around with how the rescue works, "Go here, go there, hang out in here", and we all agreed that I shouldn't see him and disrupt their progress just so I could look at him. Which is a bummer because he is quite the looker. Anyway, he has a potential adopter coming in in the next couple of days, someone who knows the breed.

Careful, AK, I sense you could become a Mastiff hoarder with very little encouragement. We don't want to have to do an intervention when you become the dog equivalent of the crazy cat lady.:D

Congratulations! More pictures, please. I want to see more of the handsome Mike. He's a lovely boy and I'm very happy for you.

Thank you. :)
It's funny that I feel I need to clarify things, but... As stout and robust as Mike looks, he really is a pocket Mastiff. I picked him up last night and stepped on the scale. He's a stout 110lbs. :p

OMG I am so happy for you and Mike and I love the photos!!! Keep the photos and the stories coming. We call Diesel our "toy mastiff"... granted he is only 1/2 DDB but he is definitely a "toy" mastiff at 75lbs. lol

OMG...My Bailey is only 117 lbs, unlike AK, I can't pick her up and carry her...we do weigh ins at the vet. Would you call her a pocket mastiff, AK? I'm not trying to hi-jack the thread, just it never occurred to me until you addressed it.

As for Mr. Mike, gorgeous dog...I love DDB's. You are going to have to do a photo shoot to satisfy all of us.

And, I want you to know, my husband and I have talked about your situation...losing Junior and deciding to foster/adopt, and we have decided, if and when the day comes, we will honour Bailey by opening our home to another Mastiff who is waiting for a forever home.

You Did Your Boy Proud, AK! You Did the Forum Proud, Too!

She's pocketish. :p
I'm thinking Mike being on the smaller side will help him age well, so it's not a complaint at all. He's still a very bouncy boy.

And I'm very glad I got into the fostering scene... It helped me out a great deal emotionally, got me prepared to take on Mike and know doing so was a good decision.

There are so many amazing dogs available and waiting. Sad, but at the same time you know you'll be able to find one. Hopefully that's a long ways away!
