What is your mastiff hauler?

I have decided on an English Mastiff and I believe I have found my breeder pending a site visit so now I have to start thinking logistics. I drive a Z4 at the moment. Not a great vehicle to tote your EM around. Fortunately my lease is up about the time I'll be getting a pup if everything falls into place (the wait is going to be brutal).

I really like convertibles so am considering a Jeep Wrangler unlimited. Curious what ya'll use as your mastiff school bus? :)

My wife has a tiny 2 door Toyota Echo, which will be entertaining when Junior is full grown.
I drive a 2 door Tahoe and am in need of a pet divider for the back. ;)
I drove an Excursion when I had my previous dogs. There was plenty of room in that thing.

We use the back of a Subaru Forester mostly. I have lined the floor with carpet, and have towels draped over the back seat for slobber. Whoever said Cane Corso dont slobber were wrong! We also have a 4 door truck and in the Summer I fold the seats up in the back and he rides in there. It is a 2009 F150, and the back seat is huge. I would recommend it for a truck to haul a dog. In the winter we put him in the bed...we have a camper. It just gets too hot in the summer for that. I let him enjoy the A/C.

We currently have a mini-van with stow and go seating! LOL! Sad when only one of the back seats are up :) Scott has his baby, his truck that the dogs are allowed but with a few more strict rules than the van.

Sweet Jeepers don't tell Scott you had an Excursion and it worked well for your dogs...that was what he wanted instead of the van. Like I need to be driving a tank and running over small random cars lol!

Caleb, thank you for that reality check! I would never dream of having outdoor dogs but I never thought about the heat of a convertible. I live in Dallas and we are pushing the record for the hottest summer ever and most days I'm still running around with the top down. I may need to re-think the convertible part of the equation. :( I would never leave an animal in a car and when you're moving you get quite a bit of air flow. My plan with the jeep was to put the soft top down and just get a bikini top unless it rained. Those tops are too much of a hassle to put up and down regularly.

I wonder how a mastiff would fit in the front seat of an infinity convertible which is a push button so it would be easy to put the top up when I'm toting the dog. :)

We put our EM in the back of our F-150. We just fold up the seats and he has plenty of room to grow into. I also like to take him places in my camaro. The fit is pretty tight if two people are in the car, but with just Moose and I, we're fine :) He also loves the t-tops. Now, we don't quite have the heat that Dallas does here in Georgia, but I don't ever take the t-tops off on hot days-just too much on those big guys.

We have 4 vehicles at this house with only 2 drivers. Hubby has a jeep wrangler which isn't practical for the dogs to get in and out at all. The dogs were never comfy in my 2 seater sportscar. I don't know if it was because of the few times they each rode in it i was saying to them..... Don't blank my car up! Or the sheer fact that it's small, slippery and they just simply don't fit in it. Our official dogue mobile is as of now a 2009 nissan rogue turtle. We're looking to trade it in before we take a long haul across the country next year for ddb nationals. A van would be ideal for the sliding doors for easy access for the dogs but when i drive them they feel like i'm driving a big boat. Same as the bigger extended suvs. So as of right now i'm still unsure on our next dogue mobile.

We have a 2011 dodge ram crew cab with a canopy, spray on liner and with big costco dog beds in the back. It is rigged with a fan/light if needed, that said not that hot here that we have had to use it. We needed a vehicle that seats 5-6 people (3 kids) and 3 dogs, 2 CC and a Boxer plus our camping gear. So far has been awesome, in the winter the dogs will be in the backseat with the seats folded up. Also will be good for shows and hauling crates. We also have a mustang coupe that we can fit one kid and 1 dog in for the little trips. The dogs come with us pretty much everywhere now :D

I feel like I'm bringing down the average quite a bit, but we make do with my POS Chrysler Concorde. The A/C doesn't work, the driver's side window doesn't work, and it's got some battle damage from a guard rail two winters ago, but at least when my cargo goobers all over the place I don't really mind. Now I'm incredibly jealous.

I drive my 2 door dodge challenger and they fit. My moms drives the same car (diff color) but her biggest at 250 rides fine in the back seat. What ive learned is that if you plan to take them in the car alot start them off as puppies, going everywhere.:p

Dogs ride well in the bed of a truck as long as its open, but with a camper, too much heat is trapped.

Mercedes ML320 suv. My dogs are only around 110lbs each so they do fit in the cargo area. Not good for long trips, but its enough room for them to lay down and not be on top of one another. And yes there is hair and slobber all over the back area including the back head rests. Its "their" area, rest of the vehicle is clean and nice inside and out, lol.

I have a Ford Escape Hybrid with the back seats down. I have to deadlift my 6 yr old (100# female TM) into the back, she doesn't jump up, but will jump out. My 8 month old puppy (100# male TM) also gets lifted in, but that is soon to stop as he is getting heavier and is tall enough to start jumping in himself.

Just got a new Ford Flex for my two monsters and it's perfect. I couldn't ask for a better car. Hubby has a F150 that we need to get a cap for so they can ride in the back of that too.
Just don't get the four door Jeep Wrangler. Consumer Reports rated it the worst vehicle ever made and actually recommend that people do not buy it what so ever. I was like WOW!

With any suv I am planning to get a ramp so they get used to it. Idoubt I'd be able to lift a full grown dog. As far as the wrangler unlimited all the reports on the 2012 version with the penestar engine are glowing. I agree about the previous vversions. I don't want to have to put the top up every time i go for a ride with the dog in the summer though.

We have a Cherokee and a Wrangler.... Fiona the pup only fits in the wrangler. But we easily fit both in the Cherokee! Abby gets the back with the gate up so Fiona doesn't try and wrestle her haha and Fiona gets the back seat. :-D With both vehicles and both dogs, they get their fronts up and we lift their behinds to help them up..... Both vehicles are on 31 inch mud terrains so unless abby was a young Mastiff haha we lift her up. :-D Also, Abby doesn't go EVERYWHERE like Fiona does. Abby loves car rides- but Fiona is a puppy and travels with us much more often.
The next vehicle planned is a a new Subaru Outback! Room for the kids AND furry friends!
The plan is the netting to cover the top of the wrangler .... OR a seatbelt harness for Fiona so I don't have to worry about her getting out when the top is off. :-D
I should also add that we don't get heat like TX ;) I am in WA.

lol the four door is NOT a jeep ;) Even the newer widened 2 doors are not nearly as capable as 2005 and prior....... :-D Just sayin.
