What is this about???

Last night when I was playing with my 2 babies Corelina started to climb up in the recliner with me...or so I thought!! She started trying to hump my leg and a few minutes later tried to hump the recliner arm!! Is this something common that female Corsi do sometimes? Was she just excited from playing maybe...she has never done this before and I don't think I've ever seen any female dog do this. I've never even seen Titan try to hump anything and he is almost 19mths and still intact!! BTW she has been spayed for around a year and 1/2.

This is a new thing?
Could just be an excitement response... I've seen Denna go to hump a toy a few times, but it never lasts very long. I was a bit surprised, too... but since it didn't seem to be an obsession with her, we didn't have to take any action. :)

Yes, I have never seen her do this before and I've had her for 1yr and 9mths and this is a first...it only lasted a few seconds and she stopped and went for the recliner arm but then it ceased all together. I think she was just excited...she is my first female dog...I've always had males before and not sure what is normal or not for her. I just looked at her, smiled and said "whatcha doin Mama"? LOL wasn't sure what to do!

Yes, humping can be caused from excitement. I'm surprised Titan hasn't humped anything yet. hehehehe

Yea I am very surprised he hasn't yet being as old as he is, but not even an attempt. I won't complain about it though because the last time I asked if it was normal that he hadn't hiked his leg to pee he started shortly there after and has been peeing on everything I own since(outside the house), lawn mower, every tree and bush, my tires on my 4-Runner and everything else he possible can!! LOL

Yes, our lady also had that movement with my leg, in the middle of gaming, but Risa then was just 3-4 months old.
According that she was one of six female puppies in litter, I thought that she have excess of male hormones ;)

I've often wondered about that, LOL she is also the only female I have ever seen hike her leg to mark where another dog had marked!!

Ok, last night she did it again...a few times, I had to actually push her off of my leg, and this time we weren't even playing! I'm sure it's nothing to be concerned about, but why is she doing this? She has been spayed for a long time now, not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Could this be a dominant behavior? She peed on the floor yesterday right in front of me and again this morning, she has never done that before...any advice?

I'd say back to basics. Like josh gough advised me, go to drills. I do one right after the other commands, come, sit, paw, lay down, up and then reward. I do it about 10 minutes straight. I also do stay and come and then the rest of the commands. I do them at the apartment and at the park.

Josh said this will let the pup know that you are in control not the pup.

Titan is doing pretty well at the drills. He will sometimes hesitate on lay down but Josh said that's because that a submissive command.

We did the drills at the park yesterday and he did so well but after about 8 times of doing them, he stopped. I brought him to a sit and we stayed there for a couple of minutes. I told him to stay and I walked away. I told him to come and we did the drills another 3-4 times.

Back to basics...

I thought the same thing, but I thought only males did this...and as I said before Corelina is the first female I have ever had so this is new to me. She will also put her front paws in the recliner and stand over me as if she is saying this is my recliner and you are mine, so I make her get down and go lay on her bed.
I thought humping was a dominance action. Is that wrong?
