Don't think so color does not fit. Even if might be the chain is enough to scare me off the breeder. There are many good breeders of quality and stable dogs that I would keep looking. Just my opinion but......

Black and tan is something that can come out in a litter as well as blue and tan. There are some historical dogs that look like they have black and tan markings but they are actually brindle (it is my understanding having never met these dogs and the pictures being hard to tell from).

It is not an accepted colour in the standard so ones that are born these colour should be sold on a spay/neuter contract. It does not mean the puppy's are not pure but I do not think it is a female that should have been bred (not just because of her colour). I am not sure what you mean by "run of the mill" Cane Corso but for a quality Cane Corso pet you are usually looking anywhere from 1500.00 to 2000.00 depending on the region you live in.

If you decide to go with this breeder make sure you check into health screens of the parents as like most other large breeds they are prone to certain conditions like Hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, Cherry Eye, etc. There are a lot of skiddish/nervous dogs being bred so be sure of the temperament of the dog especially if you have kids or people around often.

Do you have a link to the breeders website?

If they are a corso/neo cross why are you concerned about the female's markings? They are already mixes so if she was a rottie cross I don't think it would be a huge issue but I would not be paying $500.00 for a mixed pup with no health guarantees.

This is obviously a "backyard breeder". If you want a purebred stop being a cheapskate and don't buy from a backyard breeder. They destroy the breed. You should be spending about 3 thousand dollars on a real pure-bred cane corso.

If you want to save money and don't care about getting a well-bred pup of pristine lineage, go to the shelter and adopt a stray so it has a home. Stop being such a selfish person.

My opinion is that you should learn to spell and use punctuation properly before you post on a public forum.
Let's be respectful please. There are plenty of ways to get your point across with out insulting someone.

I don't usually participate in CC discussions because I'm still learning, mainly from you guys. And I thank you for your knowledge. But I just recently attended a seminar on genetics, dealing with labs, since that's what I mainly deal with at work. Believe it or not, there are brindle labs. The markings look very similar to the CC in question, but if you brush their fur in the opposite direction, you can see tan fur in the undercoat. So where they appear to be black, they're tan underneath. And that's referred to as brindle in labs. Maybe the same thing in CC's?
