What do you all think about the American bully?

The american bullies are pretty much massive Pitbulls. These dog's look like Olde English bulldogges ( The link you showed me ), they aren't that massive and they don't have that intimidating look that i love about the american bullies. I don't know but i'm really likin the american bullies. I like the American bulldogs and would probably consider one, but at the moment i live in a city with a ban on pitbulls and am staffs as well as staffordshire bull terriers. I'm gonna wait to move and than get myself a Staff or a american bully, beautiful dogs. The bullies look like a pretty healthy put together dog, i'm looking towards the classics or the Xl's.

:):p well it looks like u made your choice but like i said y did u consider corso there no where near the kind of build n either is the staffy n either is the classic so when u say intimidating what do u mean, do u mean scary like a monster lol pls example :p n know most large breeds can b intimidating so there has to b more to it ?

The Corso was always a breed that i loved, that's why i joined the mastiff forum. I love all of the mastiffs, but always had preferred the Cane corso. The American bully is a stunner to me, they are awesome to look at, they have that Pitbull look which i love, but at the same time the massive size that makes them unique. Your right most large breeds are intimidating but i personally would rather get a bully, both are intimidating, but something about the bully just catches my eye. The american bully and the Am staff are my preferred breeds but the massive size of the bully makes me want to own one, even though they aren't purebred, they are getting a lot of attention.

No they are not massive APBT not even close. It's disrespect to compare these muts to APBT in anyway. You want one because you think they are intimidating looking. What about performance and health? This breed was never breed for work and is pretty much useless. They are not guardians and have very little drive.

The boerboel was a breed i always considered, but with no mastiff experience i don't think i would get one. The American bully isn't comparable to The APBT your right Zebo. I'm just hear to listen to opinions about the breed. I personally think they are great, huge, can live with other dog's, and have a nice temperament. I don't need a dog with a lot of drive, i picked the American bully because they look like Pitbulls but at the same time they are much more laid back, and can be considered family guardians. I'm not gonna be working the dog so that's not a problem. I haven't made a decision as too if i'm going to actually get a pup, i'll probably end up with an am staff terrier.

Yeah i know what you mean, the APBT is beautiful but i chose the american bully because of their less gameness, and the ability for them to live with other dog's, it was just a breed that really caught my eye. I haven't ever seen one in person, but have heard they are great companion dog's, protective, and overall a solid breed. I'm not sure about the health issues though.

my daughter has one, he is 3 yrs old and a real sweetheart. 20130611_191431.jpg20130611_191438.jpg

he is heathy,no joint issues. about 90 lbs id say, built solid. cant swim but loves to run and play with other dogs. his absolute favorite thing in the world is to be chased by another dog.

Zero food aggression, no human aggression but blody hell, his bark is Loud! hes really a giant baby.

AmBullies and APBTs are two different dogs. Bully pit, pocket pitt, XXL pit bulls, etc are are stupid BYB terms. While there are no shortage of badly bred AmBullies, there are some very nice looking ones too. The original registry, ABKC, puts on shows around the country. In fact, the UKC has just recognized them as their own separate breed.

Some of my faves...

Once I get to the point where I can take on another dog, Ill be looking for an AmBully and maybe get into showing. :)
