I think I finally figured this picture to forum thing. This is my 7 month old girl. She was all grey when I got her but now it looks like she has a fawn under coat. Is there a name for this type of coloring?
I don't know what color is that, she looks like grey/fawn but i wouldn't say brindle...anyway it is absolutely awesome, I swear i may have fallen in love with that color
I am not sure what you would call it in the dog world but she reminds me of a "Grulla" or "Grullo" horse. They are a silver/blue with a beige undertone. Amazing on a dog
Thanks guys. @ ruth thanks she isnt striped like a brindle its throughout. So she must be formentino. I mistakenly thought formentino was a reddish color. But now i know what to say when people ask. Thanks again
No problem. Formentino is basically a fawn base with a blue over layer. I happen to think its a lovely color lol. The bitch who took the breed at Westminster the last two years is a Formentino, I got to meet her back in Nov, and she's a stunning dog.
It is hard to tell but I would say from what you are describing she sounds like she is formentino but it looks like her mast extends past her eyes which I haven't seen too often but sometimes. She is a cutie though, congrats!
