Weird topic...hair length

Most corsi that I've seen have a short smooth coat. Kato has a longer coat, at its longest during winter it can even get waves near the back end like a rottie. He was the only male of the litter that had this "longer coat"
Does it only happen in certain colors or just the line of dog? I'm very curious about this

How old is Kato? This may not have anything to do with it, but when Titan was younger he had little waves near his rear end, but now it is all straight. He just turned 2 yrs old on April 4th and it was probably a year or so ago when i noticed, but i never thought anything about it. His coat seems a little longer than his mom's and I have never actually met his dad in person so i'm not sure about his. I feel sure that this is normal though.

my pup DANTE who is only 18 weeks old has a wavy coat at the base of his back at his tail...and when exited or surprised by something...his coat is raised from his head going in a small line down to his shoulders where it widens rather like a rottie and a thinner line continues right down to his tail...like a rhodesian ridgeback...

That's how kato is. He looks like a ridgeback when he gets fired up or afraid. I've noticed more when he was around 8 months during heavy winter, he just turned a year old on the 7th. I've noticed he has a bit longer coat then other corso I've seen but since he is older he may she'd it out this spring.

Apollo has got the wavy fur on his back as well. It's def gotten shorter now that winter is over. I don't think he's fully done shedding yet so I don't know what it'll look like come summer. I've also heard the puppy thing that they grow out of it eventually. I'm not too concerned tho, it kept him very warm all winter lol.

A smooth coat is incorrect to the standard. The AKC standard; The coat is short, stiff, shiny, adherent and dense with a light undercoat that becomes thicker in cold weather. In the original ENCI standard; Coat: short (not smooth), shiny, very thick with a light undercoat. With a smooth coat being a DQ. In the FCI 343 standard; Hair: Short, shiny, very dense with a light undercoat. The correct coat has been referred to as the "cow coat" . I have met MANY CC with the boxer type coat, which is not correct.

Don't worry about breed standards, they are only based on looks.

His fur is starting to get a little shorter due to him shedding. I've noticed that now that he is shedding his brindle is coming out like crazy.

Corso never had short coat, shining boxer-type..He had to resist cold temperature even snow and the outside life..Rough life in small words
So the coat of your stud is longer with a lot of undercoat,at least for corso breed it's normal
In the attachment, you can see how the fur should be..Of a Italian Cane Corso at least Ahahahah
