Vomiting

Oh ok, hopefully it will not be a long 24 hours. :( IKR, I love it when a doc or vet says, we're not in panic mode yet. I always want to ask, "why do we have to wait until panic mode?"

Sorry Deb I wasn't clear in what I wrote. She hasn't even tried to eat since about noon, yesterday and she hasn't thrown up since then.

Well that's good she hasn't thrown up since yesterday. Crossing fingers & toes she drinks something today. Titan told me to send her a big, slobbery kiss.

EXACTLY! He didn't do xrays didn't think she needed them but would if it would make me feel better. I'm kicking myself for not doing it.

Nope, not normal, and the not drinking in particular is what worries me. They can dehydrate really really quick......

Hmmm. Just throwing something out there, but the symptoms sound like MAYBE pancreatitis (vomiting, lethargy, dehydration...).

I'm only mentioning this because a friend recently had his dog go through this after eating a very high fat meal (and cat food is high in fat.)

I had a dog that had pancreatitis from eating the fat cleaned off a grill (thanks to ex-hubby who wasn't too smart). :( He had all of those symptoms and had to be hospitalized for 2 days while on IV.

High fat can hit some dogs(and cats actually) like that, and yup, cause pancreatitus. And since I assume you normally feed her raw its possible that the processed fat of the cat kibble was just different enough to hit her that way. SOME animals will recover with just pallitive care, some will need more :/

I am so sorry to hear that she is still not doing well. I sure hope she gets better soon. Poor little thing.

Damn, looks like I'm going to have to do research on pancreatitis.

On a high note, she ate an ice cube and seems to be sleeping more comfortably. I really don't want her to spend the night away from us. Luckily, they recently opened a new emergency clinic about 5 minutes away. So, if I feel she isn't doing well I can get her there quickly. Right now I think she is pretty stable and the vet said not to worry until tomorrow.

Ya'll please keep her your thoughts. I think she is going to be fine but I hate seeing her feel so bad.

Happy dance, happy dance.

My little girl is feeling better. A lot better. She ate dinner, is begging food and is doing wonderful. Thank you all for all the moral support.

Good to hear she's on the mend. I'm going to have to send her a squeaky cherry bomb :p.

We would love to buy a couple of them. Hers went missing, she never was able to tear it up. Unlike every other toy she has disemboweled. If you have time and you want to make them let me know. If you have a paypal account I can pay you through that or I can send you a check.

I got really lazy and stopped making crocheted toys, BUT I got some time since I'm home babysitting Hector for a couple of days...going to dig up some yarn !

We still have one of the toys you made for Franklin, (I sent the other two with him but couldn't find this one at the time) and Penelope loves it! I think she would like a couple more and I will gladly send you some money through PayPal. :D I've never seen any kind of crocheted-type toys that last as long as these have.
