Hi
I'm including pictures of Millie, who turns 1 this month. She's apparently a cross DDB and Bullmastiff but as some of you are aware, I don't believe there isn't something else in the mix looking at her colouring

She eats well and is now long over the permanent UTI she had when younger and then the bouts of diarrhoea. She is in very good health and I thought she was looking in really good shape.

While out for a walk with my husband yesterday, the owner of 2 corsos got chatting to him. He commented that you can see all her ribs and said we need to feed her more . You can just about see her ribs but I have never been worried by this as I know that for big dogs the leaner the better?

I've tried taking some side in shots and also looking down.

What do you think?

I think most people are so accustomed to seeing overweight dogs that they don't know what a healthy weight is. I think Millie looks fine. I also see American Bulldog. She's a very pretty girl.

Yes I've thought American bulldog as well. I don't know much about that beeed but she's such a lovely girl that it doesn't really matter what else she has in her!

Yep lookin' good!

You want to see lots of ribs. It's hip bones that you don't want to be seeing too much of.

We're trying to get Denna with visible ribs... she got a little excess padding, and then tore her CCL... which added more padding (due to less activity)... so thinner is definitely better!

She looks really healthy and fit,you dont want a fat dog. My girl is also on the lean side and she can move she flys beside her fat friends like they are standing. How much does millie weight?

She looks healthy to me. Big head like Hector said, but a pretty girl. Don't let he get fat. As long as the hips don't look gaunt, she's fine. It's good to see a couple of ribs, but not a spiney backbone.

I've not considered that her head is big. Maybe it's the picture/angle. Here's a better one from yesterday....
