Toys that Last

I stopped at the thrift store and picked up stuffed animals for a dollar a piece...

Mine is gnawing on a deer antler as we speak. We just got some new ones yesterday and he hasn't been without one yet!

What kind of toy are you looking for? (play, tug, chew, etc)

Another option is to teach your pups to be gentle and not destroy them. I taught this to Zeke by giving him a soft toy and if he got too rough telling him gentle and stopping the play for a few minutes. (If he's in a hard play or chew mode than I give him a Nylabone or some other tough toy.) He has toys my mom has crocheted for him almost a hear ago that are still intact. He can amuse himself for hours rolling on his back and squeaking them.

This is much easier on my wallet...leaving me more money for things like food. Ha Ha Ha :)

I would like to say that my EM pup is an exception to the "kongs are indestructible" rule. She has completely destroyed her kong. It is unrecognizable. I even thought about mailing it to Kong & asking if they thought that looked indestructible. I now have to watch her with the remaining chunk of it bc she gets those teeth going on it & can literally pull more chunks off it. Why don't I throw it away? Bc it's like her precious. She goes psycho over it & I would feel mean if I took away her security rubber chunk. I'll throw it away one of these days.

I like the idea of the jolly ball. Will have to look into that. Are you guys buying the horse versions?

Was her kong red or black? The black ones are supposed to be for "aggressive chewers," but I've never tried them so I can't vouch for them personally.

I completely agree with the bone suggestion. Franklin can destroy just about anything I give him, but a raw kneebone will keep him busy for hours.

It was the extra large (?) black one. You know how they are 3 tiers tall? Well the base of it is completely chewed off. Aggressive wouldn't even begin to describe Duch's teeth. When she gets all wound up she frantically searches the house for it, whining & crying. When she finds it she throws herself down & gets her big back teeth going on it as hard as she can.

OMG! Yeah, it's time to send it off to the Kong people. Ha Ha Ha

I have a piece of bone. It must be from an Ox. It has been chewd on for twenty years by five dogs. Gaston has made some progress with it. Otherwise I give him as much attention as I can and pile all the mangled toys in the middle of the floor when I am away. He also likes to mash up little branches. I have a big sweep up after them.

Goughnuts best I've found. Long extreme doesn't last much more than 15 minutes and this product is best I've found. Lifetime replacement as well . My corso loves it look it up on net

Trying Kong, mine loves his wubba. There is also a brand that we see at dog shows called Tough Toys that really last... we have two CC and they have lasted several months now.
