Too many fat dogs.

And it does depend on the dog but doesn't change the fact that you can choose activities for your dog, based on his needs and get the same desired effect in less time than just walking.

It will be a shorter time commitment than walking but it can still be sizable. Just to use mine as an example. Jiggers needs at least an hour of off leash running a day, be that fetch or just running. Swimming is about 30 minutes if it is against a current not including the walk/run needed to get to the river. This is in addition to regular leash walks. Kryten is completely different as he is not physically able to do most of the more active exercises without having to suffer in pain afterwards. Yet both dogs are lean and muscular, one just requires a high exercise time commitment. I agree that there is no excuse for a fat dog, I just disagree about the amount of time it can take to keep them fit.

Of course you are right. Requirements are different from dog to dog.

you should include izzy in your book , I doubt you'll find many folks with a ddb that can run 8 miles in less than hour non-stop .........especially one that look as good as she does ............

...........................and maybe mouse , I think fewer that could run for 2hours without stopping , you have my permission to use their pics ............................................................................................

I would absolutely. But the issue here is that I'm 100 percent pro dog. If I don't think the dogs are taken care of 100 percent by a knowledgeable person I cannot promote it. I can only use such a person as a bad example. I'm sorry but so many things you said are so wrong I have too many red flags. I'd you can convince me otherwise with intelligent and well informed replies then I'll be the first one to sing a different tune.

Well I removed it but you quoted it 2 times! I did not realize we had a celebrity among us. Post pics of your current dog. Do you still have a neo?

How do I remove the posts?
I am not able to even leave this room yet much less have another dog. Haven't been doing anything other than drink and sleep holding his box.

I'm sorry about that. He was my life. I can't look at that yet. Thank you for understanding.

When did he pass? my dog before my current 2 was a springer. He was my hunting boy and the bond we had was amazing. He passed years ago and I have not been able to move his box from where I put it the day his ashes came home. I told myself I would bury him this summer by the house and I am hoping I can follow through with it.

Yes, they are gone.

I saw the video...and I feel your heartbreak. OMG...

I feel it because Mateo, my DDB, is my heart and I know I will fall to pieces when he leaves this earth.

Would it help, at some point, to share some memories of Raphael? Photos, stories...

Also, my apologies for thinking you were an alias. Welcome to this strange and wonderful forum.

Peace to you during this wretched time...

I know it took much longer than six weeks for me to feel brightness in my life again after losing Ed. His ashes are still with me and he's been gone almost six years. Someday when I'm gone, my daughters will mix all of our ashes and use us to plant a tree. I am so sorry for your pain. I hope you choose to share your memories of him with us when you are ready.

I'm really not sure to be perfectly honest. When my last boy Gabriel left me I almost didn't make it. Didn't tour, record or did a concert for almost 2 years. Raphael healed me finally. My dogs are my life because the business I'm in is a war zone. You have no friends. I have no family and he was everything. Most people cannot understand why I'm so deeply in love with these dogs. I'm currently writing 2 books. One of them about mastiff breeds, their behavior, traits and their needs as far as humans are concerned. The other is my auto biography. There I can explain why. In fact if you care to I could send you a preview of it? It's not edited yet though...

I would love to see the (unedited) preview...very much so.

Now your responses are starting to make a lot of sense to me. I wish you would have done an introduction to the forum instead of charging in like a bull. I still think it was wrong to personally attack a couple of the members but now I know where you are coming from which helps a lot. I will die if you really are Season just messing with us! HA!

Start a new thread with your introduction. I would love to see whatever you have learned and are writing about mastiffs.
