Titan has his follow up visit with the vet today. He said it's not a tumor...YAHOOOOOOOOO! He said the nail is infected and the meds are clearing up the infection. He wants to see him next week to see if the swelling is completely gone and he wants to cut the nail more. I KNEW Petsmart hurt his nail when they dremeled it. I KNEW it! I called Petsmart the day after they dremeled his nails and they said nothing out of the ordinary happened. Now I know differently...I'm so upset about this whole situation. Poor Titan with the pain and me with the cost of an unnecessary vet bills and medications.

Thank God it isn't a tumor...

Thank you for asking babyjoemurphy and Cody! Titan sends slimey kisses...

Fantastic news. My goodness I can only imagine what you two were going through.
Note to self- no dremeling of nails for Murphy.
You can take a deep breath now and relax

Thanks babyjoemurphy! Yes, Titan is snoring away. Vet stresses him out but he was such a good boy at the vet. So funny...Titan wears his wire basket muzzle to the vet. We sit on one side of the room while everyone else piles onto the other side of the room because they are afraid of Titan. No kidding, there was 9 people shoved together across the room from us. Titan and I had one entire corner to ourselves. Titan just lays there and stares. However, he did get excited when an 70 yr old woman came out of an exam room walk very slowing and wearing a baseball cap.

OMG I know what your talking about. When we took Murphy to the vet for our first time EVERYONE took up their animals onto their laps. I have never seen anything so funny. Murphy really doesn't care about other animals. He just walked in and started sniffing the walls. Eventually one man let his dog off his lap and Murphy went to see him. My husband asked if it was ok and I think I heard his voice shaking when he said yes. Murphy got down to his level on his own and let the dog come to him. Slowly everyone relaxed and realized the lion dog wasn't gonna hurt them LMAO!!!!!!

I am so relieved for you and Titan!

I was thinking about contacting Pet Smart again.

I would. It doesn't hurt to try, and just to let them know what happened so they can make sure it doesn't happen to some other animal. Nothing is gauranteed not to happen but awareness is better then ignorance

Thank God it wasnt too serious. In a perfect world Petsmart would take responsiblilty and would reimburse you for all your vet bills but they probally wont. So glad everything worked out for you guys and Titan is on the road to recovery

Actually Petsmart will pay. Bring in your vet bills to Petsmart, speak with the salon manager and/ or store manager and they will reimburse you for the vet costs and the medication.
Tell them what happened and that you contacted them the next day, they are pretty good about that.
I wonder what happened, if they went down to far with the Dremel or what.
Dogs can get infections from being quicked, but it is really really rare :( poor Titan maybe that 1 in 100.
Poor boy, but thankfully nothing serious!
