I just got my baby he is 12 weeks old now , I have read different things on grooming and products, i dont have a way to order the grooming products online so I'm trying to find out what what would be the next choice of products to use on my cerberus, I really like the show dog look and I the products they used were from panagenics but I've only found them online. So what (if any) product would give those results, also I have been trying to figure out how many baths can i give him , one person told u can only bathe them 2 times a year, but then I read you can bathe them once a month , I gave him his first bath the other day then I used a blow dryer and brushes to make sure he was fully dried , but any ways I'm just wondering which one is true or is there truth to both , thanks for reading my mile long questions

When I had my TM, I went to a local dog grooming place and bought a gallon jug of whatever product they were endorsing that week, LOL, it seems they usually carry high quality products. I think I bathed my dog about every other month, at most, unless she got into something like a skunk or found a dead possum or squirrel to roll around in. I think it is detrimental to their luxurious thick coat if you bathe them too often. I see that you live in Florida, which is where I was living when I got my TM. Have fun when Cerberus "blows his coat" twice a year for months at a time, haha your house and yard and clothes and car will be coated with hair and fine wispy down. I used to buy lint-rollers by the case back in those days.

Thanks I never even thought about checking out the groomer places, that's what I was wondering if it damages their fluff ,i was worried like if he did get into something gross if i would be able to give him a good scrub down lol , yea poor cerberus isn't used to this florida heat lol we do rather early morning walks and super quick pee times throughout the day lol, yea I'm looking forward to when it looks like a bigfoot exploded every where lol

Its bad to bath them a lot. There guard coat is pretty resistance and once the mud or what not dries it falls off. When he is pup he still has puppy fur and you can bath him to ensure he is use to the bathing and hairdryer etc. Once a year to help clear out the fur during shed is good enough. Yes, before show they usually wash them etc but it removes natural oils. Most TMs only blow their fur once a year not twice.

So if i just use those doggy water less wipes on him here and there you know ,just to freshen him up , then just pass the blow dryer over him just so he gets used to the noise and when it does come time to bathe him again he isn't freaking out , that would be ok right ? I'm sorry to ask millions of questions but it just seems like everything I have read says something different so I would rather get info from people who own or have owned TMs , I thought majority only blew their coats once a year but either way I was well aware of the major hair drop that's to be expected, I accepted that, it won't change the fact that I adore him and love him lol , I just want to make sure I don't damage his coat or anything like that :)

Ya that will be fine. I washed my dog once a year and she still smells way better than any of my friends dogs or family members dogs. its the type of guard fur they have. She only really smelled when 1) she got sprayed by a skunk (1 time) and 2) she plays with my friends really smell pug but that goes away in a day or 2 and it is his smell cause he mouths her all over her mane. You will be amazed how they can stand in the rain and come inside and just shake it all off....a lot of stuff doesn't even make it to there undercoat when grown its just on the top.

My kids are awful, they like to dig around in the dirt. I try to bathe them once every 2 months. I actually would like to bathe them once a month due to how dirty they get in the yard but they hate baths.

I know cerberus goes out and just gets covered in dirt , I brush him everyday but it seems like his fur still feels dirty , I'm sure if I gave him a bath the running would just turn to mud , but I gave him his first bath about a month ago , it's kinda driving me crazy, I have to look for some of those doggie wipes I guess
