The Barking Game!

Ben and Billie have added a new part to their games of chase, the barking section, where they stand next to each other and bark excitedly (and definitely in play) for about thirty seconds before resuming the chase. This can happen at any time of day and several times during one play session. Is this typical? and if so does it last forever? because Billie really only yaps at the minute but as she grows a st Bernard and Mastiff at full voice ain't gonna be popular with the neighbours. Ben has always occasionally barked during play but this is something new to me.

LMAO! Our Boxer and Corso Aurora LOVE the sound of their voices!
That is way too common in this house, which usually ends in me yelling at them. Luckily our neighbors love the dogs and the pup hasn't caught on.

My dogs love their voice too. For me though the barking and growling and yapping go on the whole time they are playing. It gets very loud in here sometimes and the only thing that I do is seperate mine for like 3 to 5 minutes and they are fine after that. Playing only lasts about 10 to 15 minutes about 5 times a day. My EM is so lazy and my other dog is so fast that he just gives up cause he can't keep up. lol :) Good luck with your puppy!

This made me laugh. We have to OEMs. One of them, the "crazy one," loves to play the barking game. He barks as loud as he possibly can, sometimes adding growls. So much fun! He doesn't understand why other dogs and humans wet their pants and run away. Don't they want to play?
