  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Stairs

We leave our 4.5 month old puppy with a sitter during the day while we work where he can play with lots of other dogs and so on. He loves the place and everything is really great, except for one thing; there is maybe 5-6 steps down to the kennel where they keep the dogs that he has to go up and down a couple of times per day. All the information I read says to avoid stairs while growing.

We bought a ramp for him to go up and down, but he prefers going down the stairs. Our question is: how bad is this for him? We definitely dont want to risk hurting the dog, so if those 5-6 steps are a definite no-no, we will have to go find another solution for him.

He can maneuver the stairs while on leash going slowly up and down. Will the day care workers do that for you to prevent injury? Navigating stairs should be slow and easy for the first 12 months until their bone structure is fully matured to prevent hip or joint injury.
