Some new members are bots?

I've been seeing the odd post popping up here and there on the forum. Like the one that just came up asking if anyone smokes pot. I am pretty sure these very random unrelated posts by newbies are bots. Maybe even bots directing us to malware. Be careful about clicking on links from unknown users. I wouldn't trust it one bit. :)

Definitely suspect. Especially the Bitly links included in the posting (they could be legitimate but why not posting the actual link?). Thanks for looking into this.

I've previewed the Bitly link without actually clicking it. The URL seems legit, but it's a ".tk" domain.

.tk is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand located in the South Pacific.

However, this domain is definitely suspect. I definitely recommend to avoid clicking the link.

Okay. AK is researching it, but he left it up to me. I have chosen for security reasons to delete the thread(s). We don't want anyone picking up a virus by clicking on to this link. I'm not as good at researching as Mr. Durden, but I was certainly alarmed to see that the "s" was missing from the "http", which to me would always mean a less secure site.

Thanks for the info folks.

I'm attempting to contact that user to find out. Thank you for the heads up. :)
