Another option for those on a budget for food is the Costco/kirkland signature Lamb and Rice.
It is a decent food made by Blue Diamond and sold under the Kirkland label.
The package is green and has images of veggies and meat on the bag (there are 2 different kirkland kinds) They also sell a salmon grain free in the states I believe. It is under 30$ a bag for a large bag and I know MANY reputable Corso breeders who use it for all stages.
Price wise it is good and the quality is MUCH better then Purina.

I feed the grain-free from Costco, it's called Nature's Domain and it comes in Salmon and potato or turkey and potato... we buy one of each back at a time and mix the 2 together so that there are 2 protein sources. I've had my female on it since she was 12weeks old, my 6 year old Doberman and 8 year old beagle/basset are also on it. The Turkey is $30 and the salmon is $33 I think... so we spend about $60 for 60lbs of food (I'm pretty sure they are 30lb bags).

No one's mentioned it yet, but aside from the daily food there's always Satin Balls to put a little weight on. I haven't got experience giving that kind of thing to a puppy, but our Oscar's a small-side EM (140lbs. at 3 1/2) with a twitchy tummy and no "big dog" appetite. We give him Satin Balls in addition to his kibble (1 a day, sometimes 2) to help keep his skin and coat in good condition and to supplement the calories from his food. They're super-easy to make and can be kept in the freezer more or less indefinitely. Inexpensive, as well. Just an idea :)

I go to petco...and at this point Jagger is on Nutro...I don't think this will be his "forever" food but it had a good amount of Calcium/phosp ratio. Usually where there is one big box pet store there is another...Petco (in Houston anyway) carries Natural Balance and Wellness Holistic and a few others that I have looked at and will consider eventually switching to. I had to get my little man off of ugh..puppy chow...which is what he was eating when I brought him home. This forum is perfect for this sort of thing though so many of you have helped me muddle through :)

ok so I must say that I dont agree with some of this stuff being said. now I have had a few mastiff breed and currently have an english mastiff female reverse brindle like the one in the pictures above. the average mastiff is around 160 pounds now that depends male breed mastif is smaller then a female so my female may be around 200-230 fully grown your male would be lucky to hit 200 pounds. Now I had a great dane mastiff and he was the same size as your guy around 135 looked skinny but thats only because they are so tall. Now someone mentioned that they should not be on puppt food ever and thats complete bs actually because they are so big and tall they require a longer period on puppy food to ensure propper joint growth. depending on the brand overall time may very. dont go spendig $50 on a bag of food thinking it will go the extra mile read the back it will tell you how much to feed the dog. now the feed i get is from a place like costco its in bulk its $18 for 50 pounds and if you read the lable its got the same stuff as your high in dog food youre paying triple for. i would like to see pictures of him again to see his progression

I haven't read all the other posts, but he appears to have some boxer in him. That deep chest that he has is like the build of a boxer. We had a mastiff/boxer and his build was just like your dog's. Our dog was always skinny, but athletic. I think it was because he was 1/4 boxer. We also fed him Purina Large Breed. When ours was growing we fed him alot of eggs, chicken, and brown rice to help him bulk up. It never happened. It was just how he was built. Here's a pic of our Zoltan.

Im sorry but males are bigger than females on average, thats not opinion, thats fact. If you dont believe me just look up the Breed Standard.

Marrowshard - what is this Satin Ball item you speak of? Do you have a recipe for them? I like making treats and such for our DDB, who is also on the skinny side.

Can't believe no one has mentioned this... Chewy or Petflow. They carry most all the foods and have free delivery not to mention they're even cheaper than what I can find locally. I use Chewy myself, used to use Petflow but Chewy has more treats & toys I can randomly put into an order for the kids. I love having a months supply of food delivered once a month.

Loki had problems with wheat and or chicken and Sophie didn't get along with corn. Many foods later they're settled into Diamond Naturals Large Breed Adult Lamb & Rice. Even though that still has chicken fat in it, it works for my dogs and I really hope they don't change that one. Loki is almost 3 years old now and was a skinny boy. He's 210-220 lbs now (their 6 month vet visit time is next month) and filling out slowly. Now I only have to worry about Loki's allergies to grass and his love to lay in the grass. :)

I have an English Mastiff that looks almost exactly like yours!! I was starting to think he was too skinny and small too. He will be two in November. He has runny poops all the time so that is why I just started researching to see what I can do to help him. He is eating Precise Holistic for Large and Giant Breeds but it just doesn't seem to be agreeing with him. My Leonberger is fine on it. I just found out that some mastiffs can't handle chicken so that may be the issue. I just need to find a good food for him now without chicken. I didn't know if I could use a kind that isn't for large breeds or not. What is the ratio that a mastiff should have as far as protein, phosphorous, calcium, etc?

First, I understand your concern. To me, your pup is a bit too thin and I would try the satin balls as suggested if that is something you can do. Also, definitely listen to Smart_Family as she has done her homework and is a fantastic source of good foods for your mastiff. I do NOT think he is mixed with a boxer, by no means and please don't listen to trentonb who obviously has never even looked at the breed standard if he thinks that females are, as a rule, bigger than males because it is the other way around. There are definitely several foods on the market that are cheaper and way better than what you are feeding. I would efinitely look at getting a higher calorie food, if it were up to me. These guys do not need puppy food at all and that should help you with being able to find a food that both of your dogs will eat. I have had Ruger on Blue wilderness duck formula from the time I brought him home at 6 weeks until about a month ago when I changed him to TOTW and he has grown well and at a good pace, managing to be healthy and trim. No puppy food necessary. I wish you the best. Keep us updated. :)

Go for earthborn holistics or Fromm family. both foods are very good and they didn't even had a recall for once
