It was just a Natural Balance dog food roll and I gave it to him like it was a treat and I hand-fed him as much as he would eat now I just pray that he keeps eating

Glad you found something that worked. You might try using a cheese grater and grating it over the top of his dry food, adding a little water and mixing it up. Be aware that it can cause some stinky gas and loose stools if the dog isn't used to it.

I can remember the feelings that you are going though. After Kryten's first surgery his meds destroyed his appetite and it was everything I could do to get him to eat anything just so I could give him those meds. It wasn't until after the one medication was done that his appetite returned somewhat and we made the connection. We were only about a day away from him getting force fed via a tube when he started eating again as he had lost over 20lbs in that week.
I'm glad you found something that he would eat. Sometimes hand feeding is what is needed

Well I am used to the stinky gas and as for right now it seems like all he will do is take food from my hand but I don't care as long as he is eating
