sounds like you got it under control , the supplement works best is keep his rear strong with lots of low impact exercise , lots of walking hills , slow trotting , keep him moving .... when dogs with hips like that get overweight and out of shape they're pretty much done ..... if i were home i'd post you a pic of a 12yr old dog and his 2yr x-ray with very similar hip type , also his 11yr old sister is just a bit better ........ i use phycox , same stuff i'm sure , i've used other stuff , i think was as good , it just appeared to me for the dosage it was cheaper than the others i tried ......

Great thanks!

you'll probably see the joint is in a bit better shape as far as remodeling , he was 20months in the x-ray ...........took me a few dogs to figure out to treat them all like they were dysplastic , not let them beat up an immature joint with high impact activities , but not by limiting their exercise , giving them unlimited proper exercise ........... I can tell you controlled walking up stairs is not a high impact activity , it's a great exercise for a pup or dysplastic dog ...... uphill is low impact , the steeper the hill the lower the impact , the better the exercise ....... slow drag pulling light weight chains or sleds , is a low impact quality exercise ....... I've known some great weightpull enthusiast , start pulling puppies at 3 months and have no problems with hd ..... don't exercise a tired dysplastic dog , you'll get a passive laxity effect , which will increase the impact on the joint no matter what exercise you do ...... rimadyl , used as sparingly as is effective is the best anti-inflammatory going , it has saved more dogs lives than it has caused problems at a some ridiculous rate of like 10,000 to 1 ....... I've had dogs would not have been rehabilitatable without rimadyl ...........
