For anyone that is wondering, Ruger Is healing really well and his appetite is coming back with a vengeance. Monday when he was up and moving after the surgery he was able to go to the bathroom finally but even though he was obviously feeling much better I was worried because Tuesday and Wednesday he didn't go to the bathroom but this morning it appears that we are back on track and I am so relieved. Friday he is allowed to come off his chicken and rice diet which he is very much looking forward to. He has his energy level back which is good except that now it is more difficult to keep him calm for his stitches. All in all it looks like we are almost through this scary ordeal. I want thank everyone again for all of the thoughts and prayers and checking up on him. It means a lot to me.
Great news, glad to hear it, I have been thinking about him! Atta boy Ruger.

I really appreciate everyone's thoughts and concern. Ruger started back on his regular diet yesterday and is back to his two scheduled poops a day which are finally back to having consistency. His stitches laughing ok awesome and he is definitely his old self again and pissed that he can't be exercised everyday. None of that for another 4 or 5 days, though.

Oh my goodness I just popped into check up on you and didn't realize how much you have been through in the last few days. I am so glad that Ruger came through it okay. How scary! Hoping for a quick recovery process for Ruger so he can get back to his regular exercise and not be so frustrated

Yeah! Ruger!!
Glad he's all 'cleaned out' and he's doing well on recovery!
Dang toys! This is one of my big worries with Denna... although she probably ingests more stuffing than rubber... which, thankfully, slides through pretty easily (so far).

Hey Kris...I wondered where you went in the middle of our shooting gab. I will make it a point to pray for Ruger your dog. Someone very special redeemed all of nature, including Ruger. He is the Waymaker, and when things seem impossible, He makes the impossible be possible. I'm glad to see you here, my friend. Merry Christmas.

It's the Kong squeeze dumbbell. Very dangerous. I'll post a link when I'm on a computer instead of my phone.QUOTE=Hector;348531]Great news!!! Which toy did the rubber come off from?[/QUOTE]

Thank you everyone! Ruger has developed a "pouch" at the incision site and has to go back in today to be sedated, have it drained and then lasered. Ugh. I thought this was all behind us. All thoughts and prayers are appreciated since sedated him is just so scary. Magnum is going in first this morning since somewhere along the way he developed an ear infection. When it rains, it pours.

Oh no:( lots more prayers coming for you and Ruger. Poor magnum, ear infections are horrible. I hope your day goes by quick and both babies are home resting before you know it.

Magnum is feeling fine now and resting. Ruger ended up having to have surgery again. Somehow his interior stitches ripped so we had to do the whole thing again. We are home and I am trying to get him to rest.

Oh no, I'm so sorry he needed a second surgery! A very similar thing happened to our very first corso. He had surgery to remove an obstruction (turned out to be a corn cob, we never figured out where he found that), and he wound up needing a second surgery after his internal sutures failed. You guys will be through this whole ordeal soon! Feel better Ruger (and Kris)!

Thank you! The stitches in there now are permanent and will be with him forever so hopefully we will be good to go after the healing period. It just broke my heart to put hi minder again. Thank you for your kind words. I can't tell you how much it means to me.
