raw food floor protection

Love the results on raw fed, and the great feeling of feeding them a good food, so I know I'm going to stick with this.

But need help, we have laminated flooring and as expected the dogs pull the food off the plates and lay on the floor to eat. we disinfect the areas where they eat with the lysol wipes but I can tell by the smell it's not doing good enough job, so far I'm getting away with blaming the trash is smelling but I know it's coming from the floor. I know elbow grease will be required but I need a solution for this issue.

What ideas do you have on a layer of protection for the dogs to lay on with the food that will help?

I'm thinking something easily washable (not our bath towels, she'd kill me). Maybe a shower rug?

There is 3 spots for 3 dogs to eat, so I need 3 of something. Opinions?

I used to use an old sheet or old curtain. 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water disinfects the area using paper towels (easy to throw away and not spread the germs) without the chemicals used in the Lysol. Titan used to be a very messy eater but he is now a little neater. I use a plastic table mat and clean the area when he's done with the vinegar solution.

How about a vinyl flooring remnant? Sturdy, rigid enough that it's easy to clean, and you can put a backing on it so it doesn't slide.

Plastic boot tray? They're pretty big and only have a small lip. You can clean them in you sink after each use. I don't raw feed, but it might help.

I bought a roll of carpet protector... then cut it to the length I needed.

Denna will pull stuff out of her dish and drop it on the plastic, then go for the tasty bits in the bottom of the dish before returning to whatever bony chunk it was that she put on the floor....

If she ever moves something off the plastic, I tell her to Sit & Wait while I move it back into her dish or onto the plastic. It only takes a few repetitions for the dog to understand that eating is only allowed in a specific location.

Denna licks everything clean, so I rarely wipe anything down.

I have noticed the lick everything clean lol.

Right now me and wife and kids have been fighting a bad cold off so haven't got out to look at anything yet, but I have went down to feeding one dog at a time in our location we chose, we gate it up for who Evers turn it is and let them eat and they will lick it clean for the next visiter lol.

Our solution was a trip to the local thrift/2nd hand store. Bought a dozen large bath towels for $20 that we use for "placemats." They have tried to lick those clean too. :D I end up doing a load of dog laundry every couple days with towels from them coming in wet anyway. A quick trip through the washer on steam and smell is gone.
