I am going to try everything possible to clear this up with antibiotics. I don't like giving her meds esp since she has already been on two antibiotics in her short life. UGH you hug that bitch. She is being such a brat today very mouthy. I think she wants to come visit Cane.

I would not do another round of antibiotics without serious thought and research. I honestly feel that it was the over use of antibiotics in the first year of Cane's that weakened his immune system and caused systematic yeast imbalance. Try some of the home remedies on this forum. If you do use more antibiotics make sure you use a probiotic.

I agree with Boxergirl, I think it bothers use a lot more than them.

Give Mystabitch a big hug.

Nothing really. Wait for it to go away.

We do try to clean his water bowl better when he gets them and make sure we're whiping off his chin after he drinks, but no medicine or other remedies.

DD and Void do theirs every look like the "pop" and get a little drop of blood? Cause that is what happened last time when I decided to take her to the vert. Right now they are just little pink spots

When Kryten gets them I clean his chin with a 50/50 blend of ACV and water. They tend to disappear in a day or two.

Ella's sometimes break open if she's playing with the boys or chewing on a nylabone toy with rough edges. When I see that they're bleeding I clean them with an ACV/water mix. Years ago I adopted a 6mo old boxer that had been returned to the breeder. He had a very compromised immune system and had demodex along with recurrent skin infections - one of which was deep pyoderma. I didn't know better at the time and he had round after round of strong antibiotics to clear it up. After a time I figured out that using a stainless bowl, keeping his face dry, and washing him with ACV/water was just as good as the antibiotics. That's why I wasn't concerned when Ella's pyoderma was so bad. It did clear up significantly after her first heat and just now flared up again with her second heat, but much milder this time.

I popped them then clean them with soap and water then put neosporin on the chin, seems to work. Steve had them pretty bad as a pup but has since grown out of it and the kids have never had them at all, knock on wood lol. Oh the other thing that seems to work well is epsom salts in water then soak a wash cloth then hold it on her chin for a few mins and let air dry, the salts seem to dry them out as well, both seem to work for me. Salt water is the best for open wounds i have found.

I took my mastiff in for a hot spot and they treated his acne with cephalexin...I was a bit worried after all of the posts I read online about the side effects but after a week his acne is almost gone.

Cephalexin is standard. I can't tell you how many rounds of Cephalexin and Baytril my Ed (boxer) was on. It cleared everything up, but only temporarily. It was horribly expensive. I started doing things to boost his immune system and by the time he was 2yrs old the pyo was gone except for an occasional spot. I think mostly it's a young, immature immune system issue.

AMEN! If you try the antibiotics and it works, then great but if the acne comes back within a couple of months. I wouldn't try antibiotics again.

That is what Mystic was on and it did clear it up. But now it is back. :( I just don't want to compromise her system with too many antiobiotics. I am going to try the ACV since I already wipe her face and use stainless bowls that I wash multiple times a day. Hoping your boys don't come back. But I would live to know if and when they do. in 36 yrs of owning dogs I have never had this before. Maybe I was lucky I am not sure but please keep in touch
