Post your happy

I'm on another board where someone started this topic and it's gone to hundreds of pages. I try, every day, to find something that makes me happy. Some days it's harder than others, but there's always something. We seem to have a lot of people having a hard time lately. I thought maybe it would be good to focus on the positive, however small that might be. So I'll start. These are my "happies" today.

The smell of that soft spot just under Ella's ear as she shares my pillow.

My youngest daughter is smiling, happy, and feeling like she's worth something for the first time in two years. Good riddance to emotionally abusive relationships.

My husband of 23 years sent me a text the other night. It said, "If you were in a bar, I would try to pick you up. I like you." Yeah, he'd had a few beers. Still, it made me laugh and it made me happy.

What's your happy for the day?

My happy is I woke up on time today with my wife and my Hank in bed with me. I get to go to work and open, this will be my first time doing so solo. My happy is that I found something that inspired me to post it in my "good Morning thread" and that I totally believe it. It's shown me that the days I felt down, were because I didn't start my day right!

My happy is that I've cleared probation at work and been given a long term job doing what I went to school for despite the job market for drafters still being bad and many classmates still haven't found something.

My happy is being able to overcome my social phobia/panic disorder just enough to find a job and go to work every day.

My happy is waking up in a mastiff sammich every morning, one under the covers and the other with her nose in my hair.

My happy is coming to work and the kids all yelling my name because they're happy to see me.

My happy is my friends always making sure I'm okay.

My happy is having a husband that values me and our relationship.

My happy is my son being able to stay awake all day at school and focus due to new medication.

My happy is having my mom live with us and making sure that she is ok every day.

And my last happy is having my EM girls cuddle with me on the floor every night.

My happy is that I've been working from home for 3 years now. I get to put my kiddo on the bus every morning and am here every afternoon when she gets home. I have time to help with homework, make dinner, read together, go to the park, whatever. I have time for all the dog classes and activities I never got to experience with my previous dogs. I have time to volunteer with Yogi every week at the school. Time is my happy. To have a full time job and the benefit of being a "stay at home parent" at the same time is truly amazing.

And you can work in your jammies. I work from home also, and love it.

My wife is not just alive, she is thriving. After HA, pneumonia, and full cardiac arrest and no measurable brain activity..(as of 18 January)..docs have cleared her to do anything she wants. Anything else is just extra.

My happy is this sweet face, finding out this afternoon that she does not have cancer, and knowing that I'll have some more time with her now:

I am happy to just be. I am happy to have Oscar and Addison excited to have me home everyday and love doing nothing with me. I'm happy to have a job that can pay our bills while Add's business gets off the ground. I'm happy for puppy kisses and snuggles.

I'm happy that since I requested a transfer at work saying I felt like a second rate sparky, my new forman had told his boss I have to stay as I'm the best sparky he has and i've been given apprentice to teach. I'm happy that that apprentice is learning and feeling more confident on site (cheeky shit even answers me back now and he's only 16). I'm happy that I've been chatting to a new girl for a little bit and she seems great so far, she wants to meet for a date. I'm happy I visited my mam this week and for the first time she didn't cry over my sister. i'm happy that I realised I don't have to spent Xmas alone or in the pub and decided instead to go walk shelter dogs and donate a few days of my time to help another shelter get their new kennels up and running.

I'm happy I'm not starving again lol and that I got to take Hec on a walk without being soaked. Going for a second one later and that makes me happy.
