I have to canes a 9 month old female and a 7 month old male. The female has shot off on my male far as height wise and it seems as if he has just stopped growing. I've read that female mature faster than males but is this something I should worry about? And can anyone tell me how tall they should be already at this point?IMG_20130702_180948_271.jpgIMG_20130702_180945_825.jpgIMG_20130529_063458_098.jpgIMG_20130529_063454_243.jpgIMG_20130702_180951_808.jpg

My male EM drastically slowed down for several months before he turned 1. I wouldn't worry given he still has 2.5 years or more until he should reach his final size.

Depends on genetics and each dog grows at a different rate. My first Male was around 70 pounds at 7 months, and my current male was around 90 pounds at 7 months. He is now 18 months old and around 120. THey will fill out until around 3....then just try to keep them lean and healthy. I would not worry about it.

That's the problem neither one has gone thru the skinny stage they are and have always been muscular not fat. I could always sere the last rib but the chest and hinds are built like a tank on both since they were pups. Could it be their diet I have them on Victor grain free high protein and I also give them raw chicken mackerel beef and chicken organs at least once a week they get plenty of exercise and frequent vet visits he just stopped growing. And far as his pedigree he is the nephew to Leonitis big show on top and bottom

Genetics will be what it will be. Sometimes the smallest dog in the litter ends up the biggest and sometimes the tallest doesn't stay that way. As long as he is healthy then he will be what he was genetically programed to be, and while looking at the parents often gives you an idea of what you are likely to get there is nothing set in stone that says he will get that large. Healthy is the most important thing!
