DSCN7052.jpgDSCN6870.jpgI just love his eyes, he is so fun, and has started training willingly he is such a good puppy am really glad I chose this breed of dog. I named him (Peeta) after the hero in "The Hunger Games". What a fun pup.

Cute pup. I would suggest you study study study. When you here "Temp" in regards to a Fila, it aint no bu&^sh)&. Many of us tell our selves they will be socially acceptable via socializing. It almost certainly wont be the case. At the very most you'll have an animal that MAY allow others to be in talking distance. And even at that just one fast move and it could be game on. Just an FYI

Welcome to the forum and cute pup.
As others have said here PLEASE research the breed and listen to the advice of those on here that KNOW what they are talking about.
No one is trying to scare you, but these are serious dogs that require huge amounts of work and responsibility. From my understanding they are easy to train and very soft with their people, meaning usually only light corrections are needed. But please do not disregard what the proper and true temperament of these dogs are. It will not be changed by socializing, it is hard wired into their genetic make up. Once your pup starts displaying proper temp please do not create a liability by trying to change that.
May I ask what the breeder told you in regards to the breed?
Good luck and keep us updated :)
There are many ppl here who can help you along.

Yea they are very easy to train from my little experience. Eager to please you so you dont need to be hard. But they are hard headed and once distracted it's like pulling a donkey's tooth through his ear to get them to listen. They are very fast and very agile and leave little room for you to react. Now there are Filas with awesome temp, raised by very experienced trainers, that are controlled all the time. Very controlled. But thats a pipe dream for most of us. I wont say you wont get there. I will say chances are you will not. And thats fine. You'll learn your dog. What and where and how to do things. But please if your pup growls or shows any aggression to strangers, dont blame the dog and dont attempt to force the dog to change. Let the dog set it's own comfort zone and you respect that zone.

Are his eyes blue? I agree with Chuck. 11 months ago I was in that position. And Delilah would prefer a 50 yd. Buffer for stranger's.

That is a bit scary to me because he is super sweet but I have already seen a bit of quick reaction if surprised, he follows me everywhere and is getting along with my two pitbulls amazingly well, I thought it would take a lot of time for them to adjust and get familiar I brought him in the house in a crate and just let them get used to his smell and just being in the house after a few day's a let them sniff him while I was holding hiim, my male started tryng to coax him into playing with him and showed no signs of aggression, they all get along so well it has just surprised me, I am worried now about being able to manage him as he gets older he is so sweet and loves me and my other two dogs I have him at my sisters with me everyday so he is used to her 12 kids so far so good, I take him to the dog park and so far so good but I know from experience with my two pitts that at six and seven months that can change so I really hope I can keep him social if not he will just be a homebody with my other two they have a big yard and a dog door to the house and never chew or get into things such good pitts also I am going to get him and me a behavior coach to teach me how to keep the upper hand, thank you for all the advice I suer wll need it and yes his eyes are beautiful blue.

I have learned from my two pitts that they will let you know their tolerance level, I actually use my male pitt as a service dog and he went to Disneyland and actually rode the rides he was pretty popular that day. I am going to get a behvior coach to help me because I may be in over my head with this little guy.
