I can't fathom the idea of surrendering a dog like this. Our $20 Cane Corso rescue gets sweeter by the day. We have had him for one month now.

Love how he's just relaxing in the kiddie pool, enjoying life.

I can't understand why most of the dogs in shelters are there, but I assume it's a problem with the person and has nothing to do with the dog.

    Thanks guys. :)

Yeah he just turned 1 when they surrendered him. Their only reason was "got bigger than expected". He didn't know how to go up and down stairs so I imagine he lived in a small one level home or an apartment. Even still... how much work does it take to find a home for an animal that's so adoptable.

That picture of his face with his tongue hanging out is precious!

Some people just don't know a good thing when they see it... our first dog was a shelter puppy, who was surrendered at 3 months old for being "too messy"... ah... he's a puppy? He was our first, and he spoiled us. He had ONE accident in the house as a puppy (near the door - we missed the signals, so, human's fault), he never shredded a bed or a toy (he LOVED on them, and would protect them, NEVER destroyed them), and was the best couch pillow, ever. :) I'm guessing a child brought home a puppy, and mom ended up taking care of him... thus... the trip to the shelter.

That's one of the worst excuses ever. So many mastiffs end up in shelters because they "got too big." Dude, it's a mastiff!

Thunder is just gorgeous! It looks like both you and Thunder lucked out. I have a hard time understanding how anyone could give up a dog once adopted much less for such a silly reason. In any case I am sure Thunder is in much better hands then he was with those morons who gave him up. <3 :)
