Pedigree /generation question

What is the rule of thumb when breeding dogs as far as how many generations removed they should be. For example, if you had a champion male would it be appropriate to use his frozen semen to breed with his grand daughter? Seems kinda close to me but I'm not a breeder nor a geneticist. :)

Thanks,

You really have to know your lines and what it is you are trying to cement in.
You run the risk of not only cementing the good but the bad.
Generally mother to son, father to daughter or litter mates is frowned upon.
I have seen some 1/2 sister to 1/2 brother breeding that really didn't work out at all.
Just do your research, get good responsible mentors who health test and know their lines and go from there.
