Our new EM puppy has white spots on his left iris

We bought our new EM puppy July 27 and took him to the vet the following week. Our vet noticed a little cloudiness in the puppy's left eye, and very tiny white spots on the iris. The breeder hadn't told us that there was a problem with the dog. Our vet called the breeder's vet, and evidently the puppy had a major eye infection that wasn't noticed until the eyes opened. The infection was treated with drops, and the eyes were stained and showed no ulceration. We knew none of this until after we purchased the dog. We were given a paper that showed he had a clean bill of health and no infection in his eyes. Our vet stained the puppy's eye as well and found no ulceration, but he wasn't sure what the spots were. We are taking him back Tuesday for his last round of puppy shots, but what I've noticed is that the white spots seem bigger/different. The spots don't seem to be affecting his vision, but I'm concerned. Has anyone heard of anything at all like this. Even when we learned about the eye problem, we were reluctant to return the puppy as he had bonded well with our other dogs.
And advice will be appreciated. Kim
