I want to ask all of you to send your prayers and blessings to our many members in Texas. We are praying for you and hope that the floods recede quickly.

As always, in times of need, there is more than just the human element, there are the four-legged residents who are lost in the storm, and their families hope against hope to see them again. I would urge our members who have the ability to offer assistance to send money to the Red Cross and the Local Shelters who are overwhelmed by the great need there.

Remember Katrina?..so many dogs separated from their families and the shelters and rescues overwhelmed. We even took shiploads of dogs up here up in Canada. If you can't make a donation, at least offer your prayers and good wishes. I understand that the rain will continue for a few days, and that many people are now stranded without power and without food. Probably a good time to review your disaster preparedness plans, no matter where you are.

I have asked MusicDeb, who is literally in the eye of this storm front to give me her best suggestion of a rescue or shelter that would be happy for our donations. She is grieving right now, but I know that Titan would want his Mom to help us out. She's a good woman...I know we'll have word soon.

Hoping all the members take the time to make a SMALL DONATION.... Remember the old saying: Many hands make light of work. Small donations snowball into lifesaving strength, especially for the animals who are lost and separated from their families. Federal and state money won't go to helping the animals, so it's only kind people like you that give them a safe harbour after the storm, and the hope of being reunited with their families or the chance of finding new families after the waters recede. Thank You...Thank You From The Bottom Of My Heart.

MUSIC DEB is okay! Hi winds and rain have stopped, at least in Houston where the sun is shinning today. Now the true devastation can be seen. The storm has moved off to Louisiana, but it hit Houston twice...this is a nightmare scape.

I heard a CTV reporter quoting an American reporter that if this had been snow, it would have equalled 60 feet! That's right 6 0! Factually, we can't even start to understand how serious this is, and it isn't over...pray for Louisiana!

Please, if you haven't yet donated, please do. These people and these animals will be suffering for a very long time. I've posted links provided by MusicDeb. I like the first one, but every donation lifts a burden and saves a future.

Thank you for sharing the links. I shared them with everyone I know as well. I would recommend even if you can't afford a donation or can only afford a small donation please share the links with all your own contacts and keep the chain going.

Thanks Glen! Thanks Nik! Yes, even if you can't donate, you can send the list that MusicDeb gave us on to others and the donations and blessings/prayers will multiply. I dedicate my donation to the memory of TITAN and MusicDeb...I know the big guy was looking out for his mom.

One of my favorite dog rescues in my area is traveling to Houston to pick up displaced animals from the hurricane. I am constantly impressed with all the great work this organization does from taking in special needs animals, saving and rehabilitating severely abused dogs, pairing prisoners with dogs for the rehabilitation of both, rescuing dogs from the meat trade industry and now stepping up to help the displaced dogs from Hurricane Harvey.
