Make her stay in "sit". When you starts to jump, tell her "no no no" in a firm, calm voice and tell her "sit". When she sits, tell her "good sit" and reward. If she continues to jump and pull, then turn around and walk the other way and repeat the above.wow crazy story, glad everyone is ok. That is one thing that is driving me crazy about my almsot 7 month old coros. Everytime i bring her to a area where other people are walking there dogs she lunges and wants to play with them Most of the time if i jsut walk by she is fine, but if i am jsut standing there and the dogs are walking towards us she gets all excited and pulls.... any suggestions?
Well not much was said. I think they were just as freaked as I was. The "thugs" remained for the most part silent. As Honor and I wlaked away I could see them talking amongst themselves. Im sure if I had a small dog or a dog that didnt do what Honor did to their Pit they would have tried letting it go further. But like I said before I could see the pride was hurt on the faces of these two bums as we continued down the street. I have seen the kid that wasnt holding the dog lead that I said was smoking a cigerette a few times in the last week. He never says anything just stands there looking all dopppy doing whatever thugs do. Whats even scarier though as the pit was really hurt on the nose, REALLY HURT and I could tell it wanted more. If I wouldnt have stopped this no telling what Honor would have done and major law suit on my hands, or maybe not. I can tell you this though..........some people say that a Cane Corso is not a fighting dog that it was bred for gaurding and that the whole argument of it being a lion destroyer this and that and how old the breed dates back to fighting this and that, well I trully seen what a pure "bad boy" pit bull with the size of Arnold schwarzneger"s body and the head of a bear can TRY to do against a ten month old Cane Corso and it didnt end well for the pit. Scariest situation I have ever been in. Im still upset at all of this that we have to constantly be on our gaurd but its ok. I love my Honor girl no matter how she turns out and at the moment she seems 100% ok in the head

Patience and consistency is key.

primehns...thats exactly what it looks like. Im famaliar with the "bully breeds, danger zone, red nose crosses, etcetc. I was afraid if I said bully breed nobody would know what I was talking about. I am also famailiar with the dogo. In fact in fla there are quite a few. I would not say they are "tougher than a corso" as ive seen some serious dogo's that are strong and have a high drive, as well as some corsos that would make you poop your pants.
so i went to this new dog park in my town that is fenced in. I decided that we would walk around the outside of it and see how she does. She did great. There is someone who actually watches the dogs and has water and toys for them at the park. Anyways, My pup who is almsot 7 months seems to just run from other dogs. I feel like she gets affraid at times but runs to a women standing there instead of me.... I feel like she doesnt trust me or something. I do most of the corrections at home and during trainning. I also hope she stands up to other dogs and lets them know when she doesnt like something. will she grow into that stage? I hope im not being to hard during trainning and such so that she isnt confident. waht do you guys think? sorry, maybe i should make a seprate post?
If that would had been me, that pit may had to meet my Desert Eagle .50; always cures lunging dogs.
