  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Oh dear, please send some good thoughts

I know just what you mean. I'm an exec asst for a surgeon and spend a good part of my day on the phone with anxious parents. If I spoke to someone like that I'd be in a world of hurt! Needless to say I don't take much crap from healthcare providers for me or my pets! So sorry that you had to deal with that on top of everything else!

How's the little one today? The pics of him before he went back to see the vet show that he is not feeling well. Good to hear that it drained. On the road to recovery...

Sorry been on and off for a while rental issues again ( argh but that's another story) Thank you all again for your kind thoughts, concerns, and words of encouragement. These are the reasons why I really love this forum, its like a second family. :)

Little one is doing fine, its like the whole bleach thing never happened. He's officially back and annoying us. Poor Thor he's the best dog I could ever have, he puts up with A LOT of the puppy antics than his owner does, lol. Right now I'm working on slowly but surely putting his weight back he lost when this happened. However his growth spurts aren't helping either LOL. Only been two and a half weeks and he's already catching up to Thor's chest.

Usra, I know what you mean, I've worked in the field for a bit and it takes an EXTREME amount of patience when dealing with pet parents. Every so often there would be one that was "unreasonable" but that was very few and far between. While it did make me upset truth be told its the norm just like nursing. IMO the MAJORITY of those in the healthcare ( human or animal) field generally do not have the personality to work in such a stressful environment. If she would at least tried to sound conceiving I probably wouldn't have mind but that nonchalant attitude just did it for me.

Kandie, things are getting better. When I got the little guy I had so many other things going on as well, I didn't give the official news until almost a week later. LOL. He's getting better with the potty training and goes on command. Though he still has accidents in the crate.

Musicdeb, the pics I posted were of him asleep at the vet. The clients and even the vets were amused at how he was able to sleep with all the commotion going on in the lobby. I was finally able to get up and walk around without him whining, lol. He was knocked out cold.

Grazeful, like I mentioned to Kandie I didn't make the offical post until almost a week later, due to other responsibilities that needed to be addressed. The little guy is the same breed as Thor, color and all. :) I have some pictures of him posted in the photo gallery.

how is his leg??? Is the abscess healing up well?

The abscess has pretty much dissipated, his hock is only slightly larger than the other. The wound is pretty much healed and I am very pleased with that. He's still walking on it with no problems.

Thanks Oak Hill I"m starting to think if there were no stress something is wrong when having puppies around lol.

Musicdeb, I have no idea, lol

Omg, too cute for words. I would have been all over that.

Re: the receptionist, sounds like she was a bit brash, but try no to take it too personally. Even though the dr said he just wanted to take a "quick look," that's still time he needs to spend with you and it needs to be scheduled. You don't want to show up when it's super busy, the doctor's in surgery, having lunch, or five minutes before closing.

I do put some of the blame on the doctors. The way they word things sometimes can be confusing to the client. One of the vets I work for is particularly informal and often gives people the impression that some of the services or recommended/prescribed products are free.

I understood a "quick look" does vary, but it was just receptionist's tone that got me. She didn't really tried to hide it. I worked in the field and know how inconsiderate clients can be ( boy I remember my fair share lol) I told the vet when she looked at the pup afterwards the time I would be arriving on that Friday. Two hours well before they closed.

Oh well I guess my search for regular vet continues.......At least pretend to care about my animals.:p
