ANNNNND duchess has kennel cough. Got it from daycare last week. No daycare or play dates for a whole month :( this puts our socialization progress WAY behind. We were doing much better.

She's only going to be on meds for about 10 days but doc says she could still be contagious for even 2 weeks after she finishes her meds. I'm so bummed!!

She already seems better but I definitely don't want anyone else to get it. I gotta make trip #2 to the vet this morning with my other dog because I think she has an eye infection. Ohhhhh just what I need. :(

I'm in! If it is just the three of us we can do the off leash yard. We are looking forward to it either way.

They had an off leash yard? Cool! I'm on my way home from the vet for the 2nd time today. The first time they gave me the wrong medication, I put it in Daisy's eyes this morning & she had a fit. She acted like I poured alcohol in her eyes. When I looked at the actual medication bottle & compared it to the medicine bottle it was in with the label I said omg & called the vet immediately. They had me bring her back up & they restained her eyes to make sure no damage was done. Got the right medication & everything is squared away. Thankfully no damage was done to her eyes!!

lol. The off leash yard is my back yard. Once we have met and know every one gets along we sometimes come here and take the leashes off. Get duchess healthy and we will give it a shot!

It's been a long day...but that sounds fun! I think she does much better off leash. Most of her "fear" I think stems from the leash itself. We had been working on that prior to getting sick & her daycare "teacher" suggests putting her between my legs, kind of holding her in place & lifting her tail slightly to allow others to check her out. She found that at her last daycare visit, she would gently lift her tail anytime she noticed she tucked it & it would give her a mini boost of confidence. I noticed a big change when I picked her up & someone walked a big Airedale right by her. She didn't shy away like she usually does. I was looking forward to trying this with Titan & seeing if it helped her fear of him. Also looking to try a martingale type collar, instead of a choke chain to see if that helps the potential slipping from her collar. While I thought she had been doing good with meds I noticed a significant amount of coughing this afternoon & every time I tried to give her a cough tablet that the vet prescribed, she'd get to rough housing & running around the house then would puke it up. After 2 times I finally would just lock her in the crate for 30-45 minutes to keep her calm & prevent the puke. She usually gets her major burst of energy around noon. Maybe in a month she'll be a little bigger & less of a chicken. :)

Poor Duchess! Glad she's doing ok now.

I'm down for off leash visit. I invited a foster from GPMR who has 3 EM's but haven't heard from her. I'll email her to see if she's coming. If she is, we'll meet at the park. If no, off leash visit sounds good.

If we do off leash visit, are meeting at gazebo first or going directly to off leash? If directly to off leash, please email me the addy.

We need Sadie to buy into off leash too. We can just meet at my house and I'll bring Daisy out front to say hi to everyone and we can go into the back yard together. Daisy had a moment with a service person this week so I want to make sure she hasn't suddenly gotten stupid. I'll e-mail the addy to you and Sadies Mom too. If your other EM friends are coming I'm way OK with the park.
