I just hope that these people were put out of business unfortunately there seem to be more taking their place everyday.....Breeding mutants indeed.

Blackshadow agreed!

There are some good corso breeders but there are twice as many that are more concerned about the $$ than anything so research is a must with the breed.

Know any good breeders around Illinois by chance I could check out? Or anyone else know of any good CC breeders around IL! I'd be more than happy to check out all of my options! I really don't want to have the puppy flown/shipped!

I know what colors I like so far and build that's as far as I've gotten with my ideal one so far! Any advice on what to look for to make sure I'm getting a pup from a reputable breeder for CC's other than the health testing which is a given. I really think we're leaning toward a more active dog right now that will be able to handle runs and hikes a little more than an EM I won't run with one a good walk yes but a run no I just think it'd be a little hard on their joints. Are corso better for being more athletic or am I just reading the wrong stuff?

No corsi do tend to be more athletic as they were build for stamina :) But they are large breeds so you do have to wait the same amount of time before doing too much in the way of running (customary 18 mths to 2 years). Depending on your climate sometimes going with a lighter colour (as much as breeders hate to hear people looking for a particular colour) if you are going to be active in the heat of the day is easier a lot of times as I know my dark dogs go for the shade as soon as around 11:30am hits here and they don't tend to move a whole lot until 5 pm when it starts to cool off. We can all recommend breeders we prefer but without knowing the type you like we may be off the mark so finding websites you like the dogs on and asking about them will help people point out kennels that might have the same lines and similar dogs. When looking for a corso look for the same things you look for in an EM. Be aware that these dogs can be more protective and maybe more stand offish then your EM (maybe not I don't remember if you have a happy greeter or the don't bother me type :) ) so temperament is a big thing to watch with these guys. Confident and aloof is great, nervousness and backing away is not to be disguised as aloofness.

I LOVE my neo!!! I show her so know alot of breeders, some I would buy from some not, my girl is going to have puppies
July 11, she was ranked 15 in the US last year and not overly wrinkley, the dad is from Amazing Love kennels, they are
awsome neos also.
They are lazy and they do slobber alot but are very dedicated to there owner and if socialized right are friendly with everyone.
I am in west central Ohio.
