New Puppy

Hi All,

New here and had a couple of questions for those more familiar with Mastiffs. Got a rescued Mastiff last week (left on someones doorstep). Was taken to the vet and was told the pup is a Mastiff or Mastiff mix. AND the pup was only 2 weeks old. Now "Sarge" is a few days over three weeks old. First question is........he is 5.2lbs. Is that a typical weight? Second, when the pup was left on the doorstep, he was in a sealed bag with 5 other pups. The other 5 were dead upon being found. I am told two of the other pups were black and white.......all other brindle. Are black and white even colors of Mastiffs? Thanks for all your help!! Having trouble uploading pic, but will keep trying.

can categorically say that black and white are not typical colours for english mastiffs. Cane Corso maybe?

Thanks for the reply!! I didn't think so. I am hoping cane corso:pray:, but you never know. Thought someone may be able to tell something from the pic, but he may be just too young to tell for sure (estimated age - 4 weeks on Monday). Thanks again for the response.

Hi there and congratulations. It sounds to me that yes...you are holding a Cane Corso. I have four of them. One is a rescue baby also. Have fun!

Thanks Betty! I have always wanted a Cane Corso. Hard to believe some piece of crap put these puppies in a bag and left them. Glad at least one survived. We are really nursing this little guy. He was really sick last week. Had to do sub-q fluids, antibiotics, etc. He has really come around. Eating like a horse (or Mastiff) and playing like crazy. Thanks again.

I am really glad sarge got a second chance with you! I really hate people sometimes how could they just leave pups in a bag like that its disgusting, those poor babies. Post some more pics when you get a chance i love to see the little guy!

Heres another one, but the quality is not very good. Will get some better shots. Here he is with our shepherd hybrid Sadie. I am told that his name is now Zeus. I like it. Anyway, thanks for all the wonderful comments and help.
