New puppy help

I have a 9 month old EM. My daughter just adopted a 10 week old mutt puppy. Our EM will not stop chasing the puppy, she is not being aggressive, she just wants to play but it is non-stop. Any advice on how to get them to chill out together or will it just take time? We have had the puppy for 4 days. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

LOL, we have a 6.5 month EM and on Saturday brought home a 9 week old em / bull mastiff cross. I feel your pain. I have found that I have about 45 minutes of chaos and then an hour or two of peace when they both sleep. It is getting better and today it was actually after noon before I looked wistfully at the bottle of wine in the fridge. :D Remember that they are both babies and it is going to take a bit of time before everyone settles back in to something of a routine. I will say that I have found after spending the first day trying to supervise playtime that it's actually better if I stay out of it unless required.

Deep breaths and remember that this too will pass.

Thanks for the pep talk! Last night was better, nothing cuter than a 120 pound mastiff playing tug of war with a 6 pound dog and ends up losing! we'll get there eventually.
