Only the last hour or so. He wants to play now. Trying to convince 2 dogs and a kitten that the instigator isn't allowed to play is really, really fun. And it's only day 2. I'm scared of what it will be like when he's off the pain meds. This is worse than a new puppy at least those you can move.

Time to start trick training, does he know "touch"? If not start with that, then teach him left and right, and his numbers......

I sure don't envy you with the after of this surgery. I can't even imagine trying to keep Ruger "down". Glad to here that all is going well thus far.

Yep time for mind games...another good one is 'find it' in a blanket. Sit on the floor with a blanket and scrunch it up so there are lots of good hiding places/creases and folds. Hide treats and get him to lay in front of you so he can sniff them out with his nose. My two love this game.

I've actually tried that in the past with him and all I got was a look and he just laid there. I tried showing him where they were and he would take them if he didn't have to actually work for it. Most of the treats remained there until Jiggers came home and got them out. I haven't been able to find any mental challenges that he enjoys. He will wait for Jiggers to solve it and then try and take the spoils if he can.

Kryten decided that sleeves weren't going to stop him so now I have a satellite dish in the living room. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1370562037.649548.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1370562048.953088.jpg
The new harness is so that I have better control outside. The color is my revenge for him driving me bonkers.

I know Jiggers isn't as small as this makes him look. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1372911641.942163.jpg
I released Kryten from the room in which his is confined when not supervised and as soon as he laid down Jiggers went over to cuddle. I think this recovery period may actually be the hardest on Jiggers out of the entire household. He wants to play so badly with Kryten.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374932310.634720.jpg They were trying to convince me to let the outside to play. Needless to say the answer was no. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374932371.001327.jpg He decided the no climbing on the furniture wasn't going to apply anymore. Oh there is that mastiff quality that we love. :) I am so glad to hear that he is doing well. I can only imagine the fear and worry that you must of been feeling with everything that has been going on. Mommy can finally breathe a little easier. Thanks for keeping us updated with his progress

They are both looking great! I am glad that he is doing better but I will say it again, I don't envy you trying to keep him slowed down.
