I think he does too. She has gorgeous dogs. I like the Red female...Renat sold a female to a couple in New York who live in an apartment. They wanted a male, but he suggested they get a female since they live in a high rise. She has the same father as Logan. And the owners post updates and said she's doing great. I myself wouldn't want one in an apartment in the city. But I do think it can be done. I think he prefers to sell to people who live on farms, and have work for the dogs. But, they are also being sought out for family guardians, and pets. The problem is people who don't have an understanding of LGDs And pack order in dogs. Also if they are to be pets, they have to be socialized A LOT and training is a must. And they will not allow other dogs to dominate them.
In all I think they are a breed that's misunderstood.

Oh, ok. I didn‘t think he would be selling his puppies to owners who live in an apartment. To me, that‘s a not that should live in a city apartment. If I ever decide to get a second dog, it would be a female (regardless of the breed). You are definitely right about that.

Took him to the vet today. He‘s exactly 170lbs (going to be 9 months old next week). I‘m always concerned about him growing too fast, but he‘s in great shape and you can see his ribs when he stands.

Omg look at that dinosaur tail! I would hate to get whacked by that!

Thanks so much for all your nice and encouraging comments!
It does hurt, I can definitely confirm that. However, I‘m more concerned about him hurting his tail. Regardless, a hit with the tail is nothing compared to him stepping on our feet.

I thought it hurt when Lettie stepped on my foot, I suppose another 55 pounds would be a lot worse!
I agree with April, you’re doing great! He looks fantastic.... and adorable :)

I can relate to that, I've winced several times when I hear it hit something. Stepping is bad but it's even worse when they decide to just stand there.

Long nails can also be extremely painful depending on the angle when they step on your foot. You are right, it‘s not that they move on immediately. They would stand there comfortably for a while.

We took him to the vet earlier this week for his regular weigh in. 175lbs, 32.5 in at 9 months.
"Look there is a great dane", said a proud father to his kid when we came in and explained her everything about danes. He really doesn‘t look like a dane, but it‘s funny how people think they have a clue about dog breeds.

Love that photo! And he's on his bed ;)

So funny about the Dane comment. It's hard not to correct them
We were at the zoo, and you can ride a train that goes through the woods and what not. Well we came to some geese, and the dad who was sitting behind us told his kids...."That's a pelican right there!" I bust out laughing. I couldn't help it. :D

I don‘t know if that‘s funny or sad :D I can kind of understand that people confuse alligators with crocodiles, but geese with pelicans??

Thank you guys! You all have been extremely helpful, nice, and really encouraging. Bane is going to be 10 months old this Friday. So far, owning our first giant breed puppy has been very rewarding, interesting, and somtimes challenging. Overall, the experience is worth so much, and I would never want to miss that time. I took this pic on a walk earlier this week:

If I had to describe Bane to someone who doesn‘t know him, I would use this picture. It really tells who he is: funny, playful, and a wonderul companion. We love about him that he is always so happy, which of course makes us happy too.

That picture with the fallen trash can in the background ... I'm sure it was already like that, but it does look like he may have just mowed it over from the look on his face. Lol. He's an absolutely gorgeous boy.

Thanks! And good observation. I don‘t believe he was guilty of this one. They usually just throw the cans back on the street once they are empty. :)
