As long as you are searing the meat for less than 1-2 minutes, the bones should not cook to the point where they are brittle. I have to sear or boil Titan's meat before he will eat it to get the juices going.

Really thanks for the heads up, but how do I prepare it? Should I give it to him uncooked.

Tomorrow will be a week since I started raw feeding with Danzo, he still has bumps, not as bad as when he first got them, sometimes it would go away completely and then reemerge, he is on chicken wings and drumstick, how long will it take for the bumps to disappear and never come back? Or could it be he is allergic to chicken? I'm really worried please help?

Patience... It took 12 months for Titan's skin allergies to clear up. It will take about 8-12 months for him to detox.

Continue on the raw diet, you will start to notice a difference at about 5-6 months.

I'd give him longer before assuming an allergy. Musicdeb comforted me greatly on this. It does take time. Mowgli is going through another itchy phase right now, but his ears are the whitest (ie, least inflamed) that I've ever seen them, and he's shedding like crazy.

Judilse, remember you posted on that thread? I bet you saw her reply. Aside from the bumps, how's he doing? Itchy? Upset stomach at all? Does he seem happy to eat? If no issues, roll with it. If those bumps are pyoderma, which Mowgli's allergy manifested as, you might need an antibiotic wipe or shampoo to help it finish clearing up. It's basically acne, so it spreads if a bump breaks open.

He is doing ok on the raw diet, this week is his third on raw, the bumps are much less now just occasional itching, he like the raw diet, at first when the bumps started they did look like pyoderma but now is nothing like that, I also started him on a flea spray over the weekend and I find it help greatly with the bumps, ( so could have also been flea bites bumps, who knows!) but I'm very satisfied with the raw diet, after a whole lot of research, raw is the way to go, thank you guys for the love and support could not have done it alone, thanks again, and I do remember that thread, that I posted and replies, great stuff guys keep it up

So after just over a week of treatment for fleas, with fipronil, Danzo bumps have completely, cleared out, so it could have been that the bumps were due to a flea allergic dermatitis, sept 12th will be exactly a months since I started him on raw, and yesterday I just got news from my local meat store that their have issues with the meat supply, so I might have to start him back on the dry food until I get another source for my raw feeding, I just hope he remains bump free, I'll keep my fingers cross

Judisle, where are you located? There is a group on Facebook called Carnivore Feed Suppliers. It's just information sharing on where to get raw food for our pets at reasonable prices. Some people pool together and buy bulk from various places. Some people who breed things like feeder rabbits will post on there. Lots of great info, but I think the majority of people are in the US/Canada.

Ah! Gotcha.

I know they have a group through Yahoo dedicated to international raw feeders and vendors.
