Natura pet food and treat recall 2013

MYFOXNY.COM -Natura Pet Products is voluntarily expanding its recent recall of dry pet foods because of the risk of Salmonella contamination.
The expanded recall now includes all sizes, varieties, lot codes, and UPCs of Innova, EVO, California Natural, HealthWise, and Karma dry pet food products and treats with expiration dates prior to and including March 24, 2014, the company said.
The recalled food products are sold through veterinary clinics, pet specialty retailers, and online.
If you bought any of the recalled items you should throw them out, the company said.
Contaminated food can sicken pets and humans who handle it.
"Any time you notice your pet is not acting right, you should take him or her to your family veterinarian as soon as possible," Dr. Neil Shaw, chief medical officer of BluePearl Veterinary Partners in New York City, said in a news release.
