Chev on porch with ball 1.jpg Mr. Chev is now 4 years old and, amazingly, he can spell like an 8th grader. There are a few words he knows well and these words get Chev perked up...."take" "out" "ride" "chip (short for chipmunk)" and the initials PD which stands for PennDot, the place where I take the boys (Coal and Chev, the Dream Team) for a leashless run. Some construction company put rip rap (quite large stones) along the stream bank, and I see snakes almost every day. Phew...the dogs haven't discovered these critters yet. Coal is 9 ish, and Chev is 4. Thanks for asking !!!

He's beautiful Pastor Dave. Such a big handsome boy. And I get the special word recognition...yep, "go" "out" "ride" "DP (dog park)", "Auntie" "Uncle" oh, and the big one "Treat" or "Cookie."

And Bailey can count...at least up to five, maybe more. She counts how many dog biscuits the neighbour dog gets, and she will plant herself in front of you and demand she get the same. Funny creatures, aren't they?

Great pictures! Diesel has also learned how to spell certain words. We spell words we don't want the dogs to pick up like "treats" "food" "out" "dinner" etc. That way they don't expect those things. But, now he just has to hear the spelling and he knows what we are talking about so we have moved onto using more complex words "Do you think it's almost time to get the edibles ready for them?" "I think they would like to engage in some mastication. Has it been long enough yet?" "Should we go spend some time in the exterior with them?" So far he hasn't picked up on the new words yet but I sort of expect he will eventually. lol
