More and more winter

Okay so spring seems no where near, lol.
Again today we are dumping snow and is cold.
Because when I say cold I mean like -30 Celsius, is not conducive for out side play. The dogs hate going out in fact, they run out do their business and run back inside limping. So what we have been working at doing what we can indoors. I have set up a Rally course in the basement, which as you can imagine pleases my husband to no end. Seeing that is where the home theater is :D, I am sure he loves watching hockey with me doing training behind him, but such is life :lolbangtable: in the prairies. We also have started taking them to the Bass Pro shop. That is a test in socializing for a dog, lmao. So far so good.
But there is only so much that one can do in extreme weather. So what do you folks do in the cold, I mean when it is far too cold to go for walks... if that happens in your neck of the woods. I think would be good to throw ideas around.

I am going to be no help, its already hitting 80 here everyday, I miss seasons so much. I guess the only good thing about the extreme heat here in the summer is there is always night to go outside. But I have to say I think its awesome you have a rally course in your basement!

feels like spring in mid michigan; still in the 30s and snow on the ground but things are melting and spring just feels like its in the air. i live by a lake and people are still ice fishing and cross country skiing.

this winter was much more cold and snowy than last year here though. yogi loves the snow, he burrows in it and just rolls around it it. probably the best season for him, he can run and run and probably doesnt get as hot as other months. he always tries to find the deepest snow he can and will just run and jump in it as fast as he can.

Oh the dogs here love the snow, lol, that's not the issue.
-30 Celsius is -22 fahrenheit, it is a severe weather warning that skin will freeze in under 5 minutes, with the windchill right now is -36 which would be -32.8 F.
So it just is not possible to go outside. :( I have to wonder why I live here, lol.
Thanks, I just downloaded all the signs for Rally O, then set them up in different orders in the basement to keep her working. I am starting on stupid dog tricks now to pass the time, so she doesn't get bored. Lol, anyone else have ideas?

wow that is just brutal cold. mojo sent.

sooooooooooo why do you live there?? seems like a pretty hostile environment, lol. god, i dont even want to imagine your heat bills, i complain about mine

ive seen people "walk" dogs on treadmills, do you have one of those to try? if your dogs would do that it would be a good way to get some excercise.

lmao...see again I am not sure, that said is better then Saskatoon which was -49 the other day.
Actually our heat bills are not ssoooo bad, lol.
I am planning on getting a treadmill, we recently moved so have the room for it. I do have some friends that have them and that is exactly what they do :)
