List Of CAFIB Breeders?

I wouldnt jump too hard at her guys.. if someone is not used to working dogs and their ragged good looks (even working laradors, gun dogs, etc get them) then it would seem strange. If you are correct and the reason for her posting stuff is to find "fault" with CAFIB dogs then PLEASE let her because the more questions people have the more answers will come and the better understanding they will have as to why CAFIB exists and why people fight so hard to preserve the traditional fila. Remember w/o the passing of knowledge you are just doomed to make someone else's mistakes.

I thought it was great response to inform new individuals that dogs are not glass figures. People inquire about Thor's calluses I simply tell them I have no control on what he sleeps on, he has a bed and a blanket but still prefers the hard cool floor. Dogs will be dogs.

It is common in ALL breeds of Mastiffs, actually any large breed period.
Personally I don't think it looks "wrong" at all, it is part of life.
My dogs have elbow calluses, they have dog beds but most times prefer to sleep on our cool tile.
Most, if not all CC in Italy, working CC that is, have the same calluses. It is a very Western concept to give dogs comfy soft bedding, furniture and spoil them the way we do.
To be honest from your post, it seems like you are searching for faults in CAFIB dogs that aren't there. Not saying they don't have faults, but if the best that you can find here is calluses...
If you have "mainly" seen those in CAFIB dogs, that leads me to believe that you haven't looked at many large breed working or farm dogs/breeds.
They are pretty common.

I mainly see it on CAFIB dogs in Brazil, is that better for you? I am not searching for faults, just an honest question about what it was. I have never had a pure working dog, or a dog that prefers to sleep on hard surfaces. I assume it is from the weight on the dog, rubbing against the hard surface?

not nec. rubbing per say just the weight on the hard surface... it is the body trying to protect the bone from damage. I remember a breeder of non CAFIB dogs say that the non CAFIB dogs have thicker skin and that is why they dont get it...LMFAO I laughed so freaking hard. talk about lack of knowledge!

ksh, now that you know that those are calluses and how they are formed do you know why it is the CAFIB type that has them more over the none CAFIB type?

All the big dogs I've had deff had them. All our saints, mastiffs and dane. They get leather necks to. You see it more from cafib dog proply cause in brazil and other places where cafib pups tend to be, they work their dogs. Or at the least treat them as Americans did 50yrs ago

I would bet most all ckbc dogs from the same place have the same marks. I like em. Means your dog aint show poodle.

chuck the Brazilians that are into the show stuff are very meticulous with their dogs and that is why most of the cbkc dogs dont have that.... remember they arent just going against filas they are going against all breeds with cbkc so those calusses would be considered undesirable... CAFIB on the other hand could care less...farm dog against farm dog, lol.

and when does that EVER happen? look at the amparo shows, the belo shows, minas, sao paolo...stop concentrating on one kennel because of what you heard.

I was born at night but not last night. I know what goes on down there chief, don't rely on hearsay. Many times the best physical specimen in the show gets jack squat, and the sponsoring kennels dogs "steal the show". And there are not that many "farm" filas left in the motherland, there are alot of "kennel" filas and that includes your beloved organization. I personally could care less about shows and would put much more emphasis on temperament or how a dog can pull down a hog. Of coarse thats illegal in Brazil now. Ironic.

........ok

Brazilian citizens are losing their their liberties at an alarming pace. Traditions such as hunting which have been ingrained in the culture for centuries are gone out the window. It is a direct result of a neo liberal govt in complete control ramming laws down the throats of its people. Believe it or not there has been conversations in a few states of banning Filas, the national dog. Ironic.
