Liquid Poo

Hello everyone. I'm trying with much difficulty to decipher why my dogs intestinal issues are. She is a 1 year old Bullmastiff. Spade, (after her first heat) with not other issues except the fact that she continue to have liquified stool. She's been under the care of a vet since puppyhood. We've suffered this issue since puppyhood. As of her most recent exam her blood work showed a healthy pancreas, not issues with her intestens and is in overall wonderful health. I've been feeding Canidae Elements (veal), Canidae all stages large breed and now blue buffalo to no avail. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Have you had a fecal done to make sure she doesn't have Giardia or the other parasite? My girls had that issue where the poo would be fine and then runny and they had Giardia...which took us almost 3 weeks to get rid of. Sounds like she must either be allergic to something or have a stomach issue to me. Are there any plants she might be getting into?

I would add some canned pumpkin and cooked white rice to her food, it has helped when my girls had the runs.
Also check to see if there is chicken in their food, many mastiffs are allergic to chicken products my CC Abby is allergic to chicken.

canned pumpkin works great: I used to buy the pumpkin baby food for Jack when he was a pup.

Canned pumpkin and rice are good short term fixes, but hopefully you don't need them forever...

I'd add in some probiotics and digestive enzymes and see if that helps get things working better.
We used "GI Support" from onlynaturalpet.com for Denna... but you can get the main ingredients at human vitamin shops, too.

Liquid poo indicates things are moving through the intestines too fast, so water isn't absorbed back out of the fecal matter. Long term, loose poops can cause other issues, so the short term fix is good, but a long term solution would be better. You might see what other foods are available, too... a lot of foods do use chicken fat as a preservative, even in otherwise chicken-free recipes, so you have to look deep into the ingredients list to see what might be causing the problem.

1st thing is to get 2 negative fecals. Then I would go to a limited ingredient food and try to determine if she has a food allergy.
