Met a chap today whist walking Ben who was quite enthusiastic about somebody else having a DDB in a small town like Desborough. I was quite surprised by how certain this guy was and said what about the black mask and was told that black masked DDBs are relatively common. First I'd ever heard of this, went on youtube and after a bit of searching found a showing several different black masked DDBs and Ben could have fit into the middle of them. So mystery solved, after all the different suggestions "bullmastiff, DDB mix, EM mix, Boerboel etc) I've finally identified his likely breed.
I was fascinated though by how different some of the black masked ones look from typical DDB's, there almost seemed to be a touch of bullmastiff about them.
The other thing it made me realise was that I actually don't care what breed he is and would still love him if he was any mix.
