KENNEL COUGH VACCINES ANYONE (?)

Since your dog was in a boarding facility, he probably just picked something up; it's probably a coincidence. There are so many viruses out there, you're right; the bordetella vaccine is similar to the human flu shot in that it only targets one strain. We're currently fighting a respiratory corona virus @ work; I'd never heard of it, but my dog had a case of corona virus years ago & it was a digestive tract thing. So I wonder if sometimes flu vaccines trigger a change in the flu, so that it can still survive; thereby creating a new strain that we have to chase after.

I vaccinate my senior girl (she's 14yrs). They're more prone to pneumonia at this age and I'd rather vaccinate against the strains that I can than worry over not having prevented it

Hi All,

Kids appear to be feeling somewhat better.

I still hear the occasional cough, but nothing like before.

I really hope that that's that for the Upper Respiratory Infection saga.
