It likes he needs surgery again

The surgery was simpler than the one he had last time as that was is done to try and delay the onset of arthritis. And since he already has significant arthritis it's not worth the added risk of bone infection or hardware breakage. this means that instead of a month of only potty breaks (he actually had 2 months because of a complication related to the bone cutting) it is 6 weeks of slow short walks to allow the incision to heal and the scar issue to start to rebuild. They had to cut through the scar tissue to remove the bone fragment tat was held inside the joint onyx by that scar tissue, it had completely broken free of the ulna.

My heart goes to your poor pup, that has to deal with this awful disease, and to you, because it's really heartbreaking to see them in pain. I'm happy that he came out of surgery without any issues and I wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully, in a few moths he will be able to run around pain free.

Aww poor guy. The worst is over now.
I'd love to agree but I have a feeling that it is going to be much harder to keep him calm then it was last time. He wants to play! I love that he seems to be feeling no pain but there is still 6 weeks before he and Jiggers can play again. this was the closest I let them get to playing.

His desired activity level is through the roof. Keeping him calm and rested is a full time thing now. Which given getting him active used to be the problem is definitely not something I was expecting or prepared for. After talking to the surgeon (making sure it wasn't a reaction to his meds) the running theory is that the pain he was in was so much greater than the pain from surgery that he feels better than ever and doesn't really notice this pain.

This is the bone fragment that was loose inside his elbow. That had to have caused a lot of pain so I think that theory could be right.
