Mercola says heartworm is a "higher than normal threat" in the Pacific Northwest... the CAPC puts my county in WA at 0.59%... and that is a "moderate" risk?
The high-risk county (on the dry side of the state) reported TWO positive cases (only 14 dogs were tested).
Last I heard, most of the positive cases found in WA were from animals transported from out-of-state. I'll have to ask my vet if that's still the case...
