I would just like some opinions from people that have more history with the Cane Corso breed. Also had his DNA test done and I would like to know how accurate they are? These pictures were taken outside at 106 degrees so he is breathing very heave his mouth doesn't not stay opened like that only when heavy panting.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Your DNA test results look just like my rescue dog's DNA results. My boy was found thrown away with garbage at 4 weeks old (probably the runt of the litter). My guess is that there are unscrupulous breeders out there that sell dogs as purebred when they aren't because it is all about money to them. How much do you know about your dog's breeder? Did your boy come with papers? He looks purebred to me but I am no expert.

I do not have a lot of experience with the bread but I took a measuring tape to his body and head and he measure exact to the alcohol standard and his eye color and attitude and the way he runs is correct to the bread . As for me getting him I got him from a well off man get had got him from a breader he was friends with that gave him to him and since he was a pet only he was not concerned with his papers he was getting rid of him due to having a new born baby and an intact Rottweiler and my cane corso also intact. But due to the 2 dogs getting into a bloody fight right when I showed up I didn't have time to get much info about the breader :( I have read that the dna test do malfunction on some pure breads due to being so close to other dogs as the massiff are to one another

He looks pretty close to a pure CC to me but I am new to the breed myself so I still have a lot to learn. I just did a dna test on the rescue I got that I swear is a kangal/shepherd kind of mix. Looks like we used the same company, wisdom panel. I feel like my test results were pretty off. It said that Zeus was 25% bulldog 25% white shepherd 25% german shepherd 25% mixed breed. I can see the possible shepherd in him but definitely not bulldog. They estimated that he would end up being 50-70 lbs. He is already 100 lbs and 26", very heavy boned and looks like will grow more. His temperament and other physical features don't really add up either. With that being said, I'm sure there are errors in the testing but in your case it makes some sense. If he is part Neo then he will probably be bigger than most canes. I know a lot of people are starting to mix the neo in to get a larger yet still athletic cane. I personally wouldn't mind having a slight neo mix.

I just feel like if the mix breed that the dna says he has is kinda stupid considering that it doesn't even go high enough on being detected that it is so insignificant it can't be detected and that makes no since to me and his weight and everything yells purebred also I have a acquaintance that has a full papered cane corso that ask me to breed my dog with his because he loves how my dog is I just not sure because of the dna test results the breeding would not be for profit as much as the puppies would be spayed and I would get a puppy so I can have to grow up and raise with my unborn daught due in a month and also the rest given to close family and friends that want a CC I may ask him and still breed if he like his CC is one of the most gorgeous brindle female CC I have seen even on the net and real life and he is blown away by my CC calm attitude and obedience my CC intact and off leash will lay down with strangers walking buy with dogs on leash and barking and stuff and not budge he is amaze animal the reason I want am offspring from him

I cannot comment on whether or not he's purebred, but he is a very handsome boy.

Looks like he has got some big influence of Neapolitan Mastiff to my eyes, often cc neo mix get this head, and this heavier structure that the normal CC,but to my eyes he is more cane corso than many eu. and it. champions :D

I am not expert but I would say no. However, he is adorable. Give him the life you wish to have yourself, he will thank you a million! :)

He looks great. I mean I think he looks a lot like a cc, his head to me looks a bit more square. But stunning regardless:)

Thank you for the replies I think a lot of people are used to CC being a little on the small side I just research them a lot and see a lot of CC that are larger then my puppy and theirs are full blood CC and also I may have done it wrong but I did take a measuring take to my puppy and all his measurements are AKC requirements the snout to skull length and width and everything wish there was a person or a professional CC trainer

He does look cc to me. The vet at petsmart said if you ever wanted to know they do blood tests that'll tell you all the breeds in the dog
